I love Dark so much because it’s like. If you’re willing to suspend your disbelief on literally just a few things (the existence of time travel, the substance that causes it, the fact that there is only one umbrella in this entire godforsaken town), it is literally so logical and genuinely Believable. Like. Everything happens just as it has to, and literally no loose end is left untied and I’m saying literally a lot huh. But it’s just so meticulous and LOGICAL and like u watch it and you think THIS IS HOW A TIME LOOP WOULD ACTUALLY HAPPEN THIS IS HOW THE CONSEQUENCES WOULD PLAY OUT and. Idk I’m insane

DARK has to be like one of the best shows that only improves with rewatch value because I started a rewatch this morning and even though it 'd been a while since I finished it, you can still see the traces and set ups for the rest of the show and I think that's just absolutely insane to be able to pull off.

They set up the whole show with two sentences in the first episode and they're literally:

"Everything is connected"

and

"The question is not how, but when?"

It's got all three seasons, it's a completed series, please

Even if you don't watch it in the original German, the English dub is extremely well done and is absolutely still worth it

Please, if you like interesting plots, cool horror elements, murder mysteries, and time travel that ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE, please I am Begging you to watch Dark

I WANT TO LOCK SOME PEOPLE IN A ROOM AND FORCE THEM TO WATCH DARK AND 1899 BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE TWO BEST SHOWS ON NETFLIX AT THE MOMENT BUT PEOPLE SLEEP ON THEM CAUSE ONE IS ENTIRELY IN GERMAN AND THE OTHER IS A MIX OF MULTIPLE LANGUAGES. BUT THE CINEMATOGRAPHY IS JUST INCREDIBLE. THE STORIES ARE SO COMPLEX AND INTRICATE BUT IT ALL MAKES SENSE AT THE END WITHOUT LOOPHOLES (AS FAR AS I AM AWARE). CHARACTERS ARE MULTIFACETED. AND IT'S THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF DRAMA - THRILLER - SCI FI - HORROR.

#true true#dark is probably one of my alltime favorite series ever#and 1899 is absolutely Fantastic and lived up to the hype#but they are the types of shows where you really cant just get up and walk away for ten minutes and expect to pick up on what you missed#you have to give it your full attention#i also prefer to NOT bingewatch these either bc you learn SO MUCH in every episode and i need to process everything#and come up with my working theories as time goes on#i picked up on a lot of things for 1899 that turned out to be right and it was So satisfying#god what good shows i love them both#dark#dark netflix#1899#1899 netflix

You know a series has a successful finale when even though almost none of the main characters have a conventional happy ending, none of the main ships (Jonas and Martha, Regina and Aleksander, Noah and Elisabeth) end up together happily ever after, characters cease to exist and are erased from the universe with no one remembering them, and one of the most disliked characters actually has a happy ending and it is still a very satisfying ending that it is beautifully written, acted and edited.

I had a weird dream about an old OTP last night. I haven't thought about them in FOREVER.

Ever heard of Erik Ganger and Sadie Dopple? Most likely not. The DoppleGanger Chronicles is a book series written by G.P. Taylor. But it's not really just a book. It's known as an illustra-novel...

Here, I have some scans...to help illustrate how the book reads.

Wow, that's a lot of examples, but still. It's a great series...incomplete series.

Erik makes me think of Oncie, which may explain why I had that dream when I haven't read the books in over a year...

Now I have this immense urge to draw Erik and The Once-ler. Weird...

Yet, I can't draw ANYTHING because my stupid laptop charger conked out on me, so I can't draw on it until the new charger comes in...

AGHH

That charger better get here before they debut Holy Musical, B@man, or I'll be a very UNHAPPY starkid...
