Hey who wants pizza episode
We all know that the ending of the last episode was the nail in the coffin for the fact that Jonah does not enjoy being with Andi as much as he thought he did.
So after re watching the “Hey who wants pizza?” episode when Jonah talks to Andi alone, I realized something.
We know that in that episode, Jonah tells Andi, “I like being around you more than anyone else”, and then just episodes later we see him: Asking Buffy to come along with them on their date, him forgetting the plans he made with Andi, and him rather being with Natalie rather than going to the sing along and looking miserable when he was guilted into going.
But there’s still no denying that during that moment, Jonah expresses the fact that he loves being with Andi with so much sincerity. He looks at her with genuine heart eyes and truly meant this when he said this her.
So why doesn’t Jonah’s actions towards Andi hold up with his words?
Because he was expressing the feelings that he has for Cyrus onto her.
Cyrus supported him in something he really cares about and in a way that no one else has ever done for him before. This really hit home for Jonah and is why they had that emotional moment together on stage. It’s why Jonah thinks so highly of him and enjoys spending time with him.
It’s why the moments we see of them together are when Jonah looks to be at his happiest.
And most importantly, this is why Cyrus is the only person that Jonah’s words to Andi have been continuously holding true for and has yet to fail.
Just to name a few examples:
Jonah agreed in putting Buffy to the side so that they could spend time together with just the two of them.
Jonah stopped his skateboarding and enjoyed walking with Cyrus even if they were just talking about the hebrew he was studying.
He was excited about teaching him to skateboard so that they could do it together, with yet again, just the two of them.
He didn’t forget about Cyrus’ bar mitzvah because he knew it was an important day for him.
Again, the moments we see of them together are literally when Jonah looks to be at his happiest.
The heart eyes that he gave Andi during their talk alone? He never looked at her like that again. His eyes looked lifeless when he was on that bus next to her in the last episode.
But the look he always gives to Cyrus? He never stopped.
There was also the line of ,” Maybe you could think about being around me?”. The way Jonah sounded hopeful along with the way he softly says this parallels the moment he admitted to Cyrus that he was really hoping they’d be able to go skateboarding together.
Again, Jonah really meant what he said to Andi, but he doesn’t realize or isn’t ready to realize who he truly means it for.
On the surface, this scene looks like a cute jandi moment, but underneath, this just might be one of the biggest jyrus moments we’ve seen.
I had to reblog this because it opened my third eye!!! I can see everything so clearly now!!!
