It’s the tale of a dad who doesn’t want to lose his son. He doesn’t only fear what will happen if Stiles keeps meddling around crime scenes, but he fears what will happen to him when Stiles grows up. He wishes that he could keep his son close by, but he knows that Stiles needs to experience freedom in high school before he goes out into the real world. And everyday, it’s a struggle to let Stiles go, because he still hasn’t recovered from the loss of his wife, and to lose his son would be to lose everything that he now lives for.

And Stiles doesn’t know what to do, because he wants to be there for his dad, but he can’t stand being around someone who will bring him back down to depression. Stiles knows exactly what it’s like, the crushing pain in your chest, the sleepless nights, yearning for the one you miss the most. And he doesn’t know how to help his dad, because he doesn’t know how to help himself. He has only brushed away the past, stitched up a scar in his heart, because he now has a responsibility to help out Scott, and putting his whole being into that effort distracts him from the longing, the aching for his mother. But at any moment, he knows that he could collapse into the darkest depths of his mind, where his nightmares have already become reality.

i don’t reblog a lot of stuff, but i just had to reblog this just because of the line “And he doesn’t know how to help his dad, because he doesn’t know how to help himself.” That stirred up so many emotions in me right now i just my cry lol
