Kinda trying to make my guild a like, writer, social, rp, casual pve guild thats safe for lgbt+mentally ill+ poc generally your casual social safe space you get it

So like i used to go to these writing confrences every few years and do like 9+ hour lectures with authors abt charecter creation and development (amoungs other things like how to write effective combat ie The Blood And Guts Of Writing), and i have a nice book of notes so i thought it might be fun to run something like a weekly get togeather like the [VS] art parties and FFXIV art parties.

Im hoping the guild becomes a rp hub bc i want to help people develop their own ideas and stories and just kinda provide a meeting place to chat and host or get in contact with friendly commanders etc.

Please let me know if you have suggestions, ideas, or more! The guild literally dosnt even have a hall and we have two members [me and my newly joined Fiance <3 ]

Hey all, I know I don’t post here often - I wanted to reach out and invite the Guild Wars 2 tumblr community to Sparkfly.gg - a companion web app intended to make fishing in Guild Wars 2 more convenient.  This has been a personal project of mine for a bit over a month now. Designed to be used side-by-side with Guild Wars 2, its primary target audience is people looking to complete fishing collections, whether for unlocking the fishing meta-achievements, or simply for fun and profit. I’m a little late on my tumblr announcement for the site, but I did want to include the new details that I’m working on the updates version 1.2, including a notification system that can be configured to alert you ahead of in-game time changes.  These notifications can now be previewed at our test site: test.sparkfly.gg  (YMMV: expect bugs and other problems)

Update! Version 1.2 is now out - with many improvements. Most notably, includes SOTO and JW fishing achievements, and a notification system, but there’s a little bit of updates all over the site. I hope some of you find it useful!

For those who aren’t familiar with art parties, they’re a concept carried over from Final Fantasy XIV - in-game get-togethers for artists/writers/creatives of all types to hang out, chat, and create together! Get your favorite character/look together, head to the location, find someone that catches your eye, and create! Afterwards, everyone posts their creations in a shared tag (ours is #VSArtParty) so others can see, interact, and share! Tl;dr: the ‘goal’ of an art party isn’t to be drawn, but to draw others, and share with the community!

Time and /squadjoin information is under the cut, but will also be posted again via reblogs as the squads go up on the day of the party!

Hello and Happy New Year!!! The first Saturday of a new month will soon be upon us, which means it's time for another art party hosted by my guild, Verdant Shield [VS]! But this one is extra special, because exactly one year ago was my first real foray into the world of event hosting - that's right, it's the one-year anniversary of [VS] Art Party!!!

The very first [VS] Art Party was held January 7th 2023, and was a very quiet experiment with no visible tag, announced only two days before and hidden away in an obscure corner unlikely to be noticed by non-participants. I was nervous, but with a modest 20ish-person turnout and a chill energy not dissimilar to the current EU parties, it seemed to go over great! As art trickled into the tag over the following days and weeks, people started asking about future parties, and even about hosting ones on EU servers, which I could certainly do since I already had an EU alt. And so, a monthly tradition was born!

CHUNKY AND LUMPY'S NEW YEAR MEETUP!

On Sunday, December 31st, New Year's Eve, @the-tired-commander and I are going to be hosting a hangout in GW2! All are welcome - this will be a casual, chill meetup lasting throughout the evening, all the way into 2024!

The starting time will be about 19:30 GMT, but there is no need to arrive on this time, come along whenever you want! We will be gathering in Kessex Hills in the Wizard's Fief area, around Isgarren's View POI [&BAMFAAA=].

This is EU servers!

To join the squad on the day, you can enter in chat /sqjoin Lumpy Pepsi Drinker or /sqjoin Chunkypepsi Drinker. We will probably have the squad up and ready about 5 - 10 minutes before the official event start.

You can whisper either me (Lumpy Pepsi Drinker / Charico.3684) or Mark (Chunkypepsi Drinker) in game if you need help finding us / joining the squad!

do YOU enjoy GW2 events? do you want to learn strikes and raids with a friendly group? well! GW2C is bringing back friday events [3 hours before reset] for various things, usually strikes and sometimes raids! all sessions are training friendly and explained via voice chat before and during the fight :> we have a weekly vote for what people want to do so it's always varied! we're ultimately a server for creative types, but we're welcoming to folks looking to learn end game content as well with multiple experienced commanders to help you before and during with gearing and the fights themselves! you can DM me for invites! you must be 18+ :> we mainly run events on NA but are capable of running on EU if theres the interest in it!

For those who may not know, I still live with my parents (and our many cats) in poverty. My dad works a factory job that pays ridiculously low wages, mistreats their workers, and myself and my mom can't work a "regular" job due to disabilities (hers physical, mine mental). I am trans and living in a very very maga-colored town, so I don't leave my house much unless it's for dr appointments, and I can't drive. I try to do commission work, but I have a backlog, cannot work fast enough, and haven't been getting much work lately due to AI and what have you.

Recently, our fridge has partially broke. Only the freezer works, so we can only store frozen food, and it's been too hot to cook in the summer since our electrical situation requires us to turn off all ac to even run an air fryer. So, we've had to rely on bread and fast food. On top of that, living in a very small town with only 1 grocery store makes it so they can crank up the prices with no consequence. Everyone here is too poor to do anything about any of this. Fast food has been cheaper and more filling for the last few months. If we had any other way of living, we would be living it. We have been barely able to eat once every other day.

So, I have to throw out the ask to anyone who sees this; if you are able, and enjoy my art, please at least give a reblog. I appreciate any and all help so much.

Reblogging this to add, this week is really desperate. We really need help. Rent decimated our funds for this paycheck and we have to survive until next thursday (the 7th). We’ve already accepted that we wont hardly be eating. But we need to feed the cats and have gas to get to and from work. I’m sorry I’m always begging, but I wouldn’t if I didn’t need to. Poverty is endless. There is no way out. And we cannot catch a break no matter what.

Guild Wars August Fanfiction Event

The library is open for new submissions! During the entire month of August @tyrias-library will be holding a fanfiction event meant to encourage and show off all the wonderful, talented writers in the Guild Wars fandom.

Each week will have two prompts, listed below. Pick which one you want to write, do both, or mash them together into one; it’s all up to you! These prompts are meant to inspire, so use them as a jumping off point or feel free to stick to them as close as you want.

Week 1 (August 1-7) — Desperation / hope Week 2 (August 8-14) —  Travel / home Week 3 (August 15-21)— Betrayal / forgiveness Week 4 (August 22-28)— Overwork / relaxation Week 5 (August 22-28)— AUs / Free (whatever you want!)
