We just finished watching Rivals on Hulu and it was a delight. Soapy, kinda goofy but also intense and gripping at times. Extremely realistic portrayal of the 1980s. Everyone in the cast looks like a real person; no Instagram face or fillers.
Aiden Turner punches people to defend a woman’s honor more than once and he looks good doing it.
Fully forgot about the election at least once during every episode.
Highly recommend.

I’m finding such joy in writing this book. I’m almost 5000 words in and it’s unfolding much more easily than I had expected so far. Doing the detailed structure in Novlr before starting was really the missing piece that has made this start to feel like a manageable project rather than some impossible dream.
Erik loves audiobooks so he’s been having me read it aloud to him as I go and he’s just so incredibly encouraging. He keeps saying “wow, this sounds like a real book!” lol he’s my number one fan.
I also love how he’s manifesting in the background for me. This morning, totally off the cuff, he said “you know I read about (some author whose name I don’t remember now) did his whole book tour by car.” This is relevant because I’m terrified of flying. He’s already planning my book tour ☺️😂

In other news- the election has made its way into my novel.
the lesson I'm taking away from this election is not that the Democrats need to become more left wing or more right wing but moreso that they need to find a way to cater their rhetoric towards people who genuinly have no idea what is going on. the target audience for every speech and political appearance should be someone who doesn't know what the three branches of government are because they were drawing a Cool S during high school civics
political scientists have failed to consider the possibility that the silent majority is silent because they didn't understand the question and are trying to play it cool
Our nation's fate is being decided by the students in the back of the class who were too cool to pay attention but try to pretend that they were when they get called on.

Today’s tiny happy news, I submitted a tattoo request to the artist who did my 11:11 tattoo and I’m excited. It will be my biggest piece yet, on my upper left arm.
It’s going to be geese flying in formation over a full moon, signifying collective action (and a reference to Mary Oliver’s Wild Geese, of course.)
