Will any thought be as good as the thought that victor understands zero japanese but somehow makes friends with kids just through charades and letting them pet his dog???? Is anything as wholesome as hasetsu’s teeny kiddos being Enchanted with his hair and victor letting them touch it sometimes??

Will anything make me feel as warm and fuzzy as these kiddos going to yuuri and shyly asking “is he a real prince?” and yuuri conpletely seriously, very heartfeltly saying “yes”??? hmmmm???? Because i think The Heck Not.

Also, if I don’t find fanfics where Asta doesn’t have “Asta la vista baby” as his catchphrase I will be very disappointed

So, we know that canonically, Xanxus was likened to Ricardo, Vongola Secondo. 

But… Why take that approach, when it’s obvious Daniela looked like Secondo too? It would be far better to liken her to someone closer in the family line, and honestly, it fascinates me! 

Xanxus looks like his grandma, and nobody can tell me otherwise. 

Nice bit of meta, this. Does complicate things for Timoteo’s line just a bit, though, doesn’t it. *smirks*

I’ve always thought she was the most badass boss among all of them. She’s the only girl and her weapon of choice is a crossbow. Not even anything more subtle, like a knife or something. But a crossbow. Her character, in my head, is like this weird cross between Hibari, Giotto and Xanxus.

So freaking competent in a fight that it scares the men. Tries to follow Giottos rules and doesn’t like stupid people like Xanxus.

Everything about Daniela excites me so much, tbh. So badass. The only Donna of the Vongola in any known generation, uses a crossbow - no way to hide bolts from that coming in an upfront fight, unless she’s a secondary Mist or something. (And how many people would use a crossbow as their primary weapon anyway?) Was Timoteo’s mom, if we follow the family lines. In which case, everyone in Xanxus’ generation grew up with her probably being a terrifying grandma.

I just want to hear all the stories about how she put the fear of some dread female god into the entirety of the sicilian underworld. Not to mention places abroad. And for all that she had no time for her son’s or her grandkids nonsense… Xanxus and co. were probably in terrified awe of her curbstomping tendencies even while she’s white haired and bent over with age. Not that they’d ever admit to it out loud.

The crossbow is such a great thing, honestly, and I really love it. (Also, I like to think that at some point, the Vongola bosses were just trying to outdo each other with weapons. Like Quarto just went: No, dad, you don’t get it. The fork isn’t a phase! Because seeing Tsuna’s age in the inheritance ceremony and the fact that Timoteo seems to be around 20/25 during the time he received the Sin, the weapon they use as signature must be chosen pretty early. Teenage rebellion is the best) 

Daniela as the terrifying grandma is the greatest- I have at least three WIP’s on my comp incorporating that, but @i-w-p-chan (my lovely enabler and enablee) and I talked about it a lot and she wrote this AWESOME Bleach KHR crossover Would You Drop By the Afterlife on Your Way Back and Daniela and Elena just rocked my socks off. 

What you said about how‘’ she put the fear of some dread female god into the entirety of the sicilian underworld’’ made me go: YES! I have this whole description of the first time Reborn sees Daniela as a child in a WIP that’s far from finished, and he just goes… flat. Like, he’s never seen someone like her before- and this has got to do with flames, too, but it just resonates with me.

Lately my writing can pretty much be described as ‘’connecting Daniela to EVERYONE’’ because the fandom needs more Daniela!

Oh my gosh, just imagine this, okay.

The crossbow is not subtle. If it’s in your face, you can pretty much see it and dodge, if you’re fast enough. Now, how does that work for Daniela?

Imagine, she looks dainty. She’s small. It’s fucking annoying and it makes her want to shoot people at the kneecaps but she uses it.

It’s possible she might have siblings. Vongola is sexist, I can’t imagine her father looking at her and saying Boss. I think they had other heirs. And like in Tsuna’s situation, that didn’t end well. All of the underworld is used to her in dresses and pretty make up.

Her first meeting, the other Famiglia doesn’t take her seriously. Mocks her to her face. So she reaches under her desk where the crossbow is loaded and aims it at the bastards face.

At that close range, it would be impossible for her to miss.

The man goes so pale that she’s almost impressed.

When the meeting ends in her favor, she looks to her first guardian, a Mist, and says, “He didn’t expect the crossbow. I wonder why?”

The Mist struggles to keep a straight face. “I imagine it was the dress and make up you had on, ma'am.”

After all, nobody expects the crossbow from the woman in a dress.

Just…just Daniela being badass.

Also, my headcanon is the Mist as her first guardian. They don’t really conform to the usual rules of society and don’t really mind that she’s a woman. Just that she’s terrifyingly strong.

I’m willing to bet anything Amano tossed the crossbow in because, well, unexpected weapon? This feels about as weird as the fork. At least it’s a real weapon, if one that seems unwieldy in close combat on the surface. Imagine heirs to the illustrious Vongola Famiglia hitting their preteen stage or even right before that, being like, ‘history says the people before me went with THIS. Now how do I remain unique and yet badass?’ Pfft. Mafia kids in KHR. You gotta love 'em.

A bleach and khr xover?! Let me at it! What little I read of the beginning looked like a whole lot of fun. :D But yes, again, I love just about any Daniela-was-terrifying-even-in-her-old-age headcanon. And plot. Now I kinda want to go write a Daniela teaches Timoteo’s kids how to be proper monsters thing. Hm.

Oh man, I love that thought. I think I have something similar in a reborn pov wip - he sees her for the first time as a kid/young man and he’s stumped. Because she’s beautiful and sharp and arresting in every way. And about as dangerous as a gun primed to shoot between his teeth.

On the topic of Daniela’s Mist Guardian. Maybe he cloaks her crossbow in the early days, out on the field? Maybe, if he has the control to just leave an illusion set in place over time, functioning at the back of his mind, he just has it running until his Boss doesn’t need any illusions to give her an edge. Because her arm moves fast enough, bolt set to go in the time it takes most of the men she’s up against to process she’s aiming at them.

She wears the dresses and pretties herself up in the early days, because she gets a kick out of the dismay on her parents’ faces when she rucks her skirts up and goes running through the halls at the drop of a hat. As she gets older, she gets them built for speed, with strategically placed slits in the sides and back to make sure they don’t slow her down when she needs to move. Her allies are so used to seeing pants (or the equivalent) beneath her dresses that the day she gives them up for a sleek suit, they barely bat an eye. If anything, they find her easier to deal with in clothing that makes it easy for them to forget her gender.

So, obviously she makes sure to dress up for the parties in the loveliest gowns possible, right. Hair and face all done up with a sweet smile in place, gloves encasing her deceptively slim arms. And crossbow bolts hidden strategically all over her. Her crossbow itself somehow hidden in the swathes of cloth flowing about her. Maybe in a harness of some kind made just for it, attached to her leg. Easy access through a slit? Did gowns in Ottava’s generation do large slits?

Her guardians find it hilarious. The people who were foolish enough to make an attempt at attacking one of the Vongola Estate’s evening balls, not so much. The beatific smile on her face as she slams people down before shooting them between the eyes remains in every guest’s memory for a very long time after that.

The mix between the original gag genre and the later focus on shounen and supernatural makes KHR really interesting!

Daniela’s interactions with her grandkids are the best. I’ve just posted the first chap of Painted Blind, in which Timoteo dies early and Iemitsu becomes Vongola Nonno. It’s mainly centred around Nana and Daniela, and Daniela’s part has a LOT to do with Xanxus in the later chapters. It’s a shame Enrico, Frederico and Massimo weren’t born in this fic, because I love them, but the heir issue is central to the story, so it wasn’t happening. 

Reborn’s true love is chaos and danger *grins*

The part about the Mist Guardian cloaking the crossbow- What’s so interesting about this is that it would be necessary. Because Daniela’s crossbow is obviously the kind that needs to be cocked with the feet- You can see it down below. There’s obviously a foothold (hook). But then again, it’s smaller than her hands, which could be a stylistic choice, and my knowledge about crossbows is superficial at the most. I did do some research, but I have no first-hand knowledge. 

So I’m not sure how it would work in a combat situation- it would take a lot of time, which is impractical and would leave her open to attack. Unless the mist guardians somehow shields her, as you said. 

It does have a big pro- bows are soundless compared to guns, and as such much better suited to assassination (Maybe she was trained to be an assassin?). Just look at the Avengers- Clint Barton’s bow might have some drawbacks, but for his original field it was perfect. Same for Natasha, who’s main weapon was hand-to-hand. 

I adore Daniela with the slit dresses. The best! Also, getting a kick out of her parent’s dismay! I headcanon that Daniela likes teasing people a lot- she’s mischievous when the situation allows for it. 

The harness idea is so great! And about the slit dresses being era appropriate- I don’t think Daniela would care much about that, as women didn’t wear suits back then either. But since it’s about carrying her weapon concealed, it might be important to factor in after all. On the other hand, Daniela’s totally the type that would walk around dolled up while everyone knew she was carrying a weapon.

@otaku-alert That's the thing- I can't find a hint of it in canon, though I have read so in fanfiction a lot and I agree he's too smart to believe that- especially as he grew up in the mafia. But honestly, at this point of time? If it was a hoax thought up by someone else, I doubt Gokudera would have gone along with it. But he's there for that purpose, he says, and why else would he be there? To have the Vongola Decimo on his 'defeated' list? Because we know Gokudera- if he was actually prepared to become Tsuna's subordinate, then he would've acted differently.

It could have been a test, of course. Testing Tsuna if he was the kind of boss Gokudera wanted. But this conflicts with his attitude- he's a good Hitman, but we all know he's been rejected for being a bastard a lot, and his desperation to belong is just that- desperation. He was constantly turned away, but this time, Reborn invited him. You could say Gokudera values himself enough to test Tsuna anyway, but Gokudera's self worth is a strange thing and I honestly have no idea how it factors in this situation.
