following humorous takes on altean!lance, I present you, a lance that has rolled 20 on intuiton
like, the white lion gave allura knowledge, but it gave lance feeling
(because that's what I need, lance said, eye twitching. more feelings)
basically, lance's intuition is cranked up to a 12. this leads to stuff like allura and lotor doing altean alchemy, and running through their findings with lance, who's like, I'm meh on it.

overall, this process is as frustrating as it is helpful)
basically, this also ends up with lance awkwardly third wheeling lotor and allura on their alchemy work, but he doesn't care. it's revolutionary and all, but like. boring in practice. kinda feels like hanging around pidge and hunk when they're science-ing. except, occasionally he gets asked, very seriously do you vibe with this

Headcanon: Coran initially doesn’t get along with young prince Lance; eventually they become super close; as time passes, they realise how similar they are. Coran tries to teach inquisitive Lance about Earth, but not all his information is accurate (Altean magical books are a little sketchy)

Summary:
Grey is a secondary quintessence, made of Black and White quintessences. It represents the movement and manipulation of quintessence from one host to either another host or outside the host in an unnatural form. The most common use for Grey quintessence is during attacks in the form of lightning bolts. The physical representation of Grey quintessence is storms and its opposite is the secondary quintessence Brown.
Lance learns a lot from his family during his childhood, ranging from him being an alien and about the species that destroyed his home planet 10,000 years ago, to the legends of Voltron and the quintessence they use to protect the lion they're currently hiding with.
It's a shame he never really said goodbye.
(A childhood of discovery, but an eternity of war.)

My comment: This is part of a series which is absolutely amazing. There are a lot of OC’s involved (Lance’s family), but all of them are extremely well written and make the story very interesting.

Now, he's standing in a place he used to call home, and it feels like ghosts are everywhere.

My comment: Unlike the majority of the recs here, this is not Klance or gen, but Shance. There’s a heavy focus on learning to trust again after Zarkon’s betrayal and I was SO in for that!
