Someone who wasn’t at the Idiot’s Lantern show at Gallifrey One 2020 explain what’s going on here
Ok so at Gallifrey One (the best Doctor Who fan convention to exist but I might be slightly biased) one of the highlights is “Idiot’s Lantern”- a sketch comedy group that does Doctor Who (and other fandom) themed sketches. The utter, DELIGHTFUL highlight of the 2019 show was “Inside Doctors”- The Woman Who Fell To Earth mixed with Inside Out. 7 is Intelligence, 4 is Joy, 2 is Fear, 6 is Pride, and 12 is Anger (and honestly any time Chad/6 and Kevin/12 are on stage together is just............. even more hilarious).
Do yourself a favor and watch.

During the This or That game:
Moderator: Would you rather be able to fly, or turn invisible?
Camille Coduri: Invisible. I don’t want to fly. I’m tired.
*pause*
Camille Coduri: And I could eat everything without people seeing.
Steven Moffat at the closing ceremonies for Gallifrey One 2018, referencing one of the earliest (and his personal favorite!) bad reviews for Doctor Who
Ohhhhhh how I wish Gallifrey One allowed video recordings of panels. Moffat’s response to both the “all the women you wrote are the same” (a near DIRECT QUOTE from the person asking that “question”) and the 1st Doctor’s faux-pas were wonderful, witty, and very clearly something he’s seen/heard before but couldn’t give the response he wanted while still rubbing the show. “How is Vastra like Osgood?” was ESPECIALLY great. The person who was upset about 1 tried to invoke the “I don’t think that’s what Verity would’ve wanted!” argument and he responded with “I knew Verity” and said she’d have loved it! He even went on to explain that a lot of what people didn’t like about it were *direct quotes* and that it’s sort of like how your grandparents embarrass you or whatever- they’re still great people but grew up in a slightly different time.
I love this “I’m done with the show and am not being paid to make this show any more so HERE WE GO LET ME TELL YOU” thing he’s got going. It’s amazing.
Alright but seriously one of the biggest highlights of Gallifrey One this year took place during closing ceremonies. Steven Moffat was a guest of Gallifrey One for a few years before he got what Shaun described as something like “a really awesome job.” So before closing out the convention, he recorded a video thanking him for all he’s done on the show and turned the camera to the audience (the main hall was packed) and everyone stood up and cheered for at least a full minute.
Best part?
It turned into a chant of “STEVEN STEVEN STEVEN”.... which I’m sure he’ll appreciate.

So the policy for Gally is that you can only upload (at most) 3 minutes of video at a time which might seem a bit restrictive but man does a lot happen in even less than that
Just a fraction of the completely awesome cosplay I saw at Gallifrey One: Station 27 this past weekend.
Finally decided on my ribbons for Gally. Think I’ll save the other Missy one for next year if she doesn’t show up again in the show by then...
Heads up for Gally folks: Tickets are going on sale MAY 4TH instead of the originally announced May 1st. Insert joke about may the force/fourth be with you here
It's Downton Abbey day! So have a picture of me as Lady Mary at last weekend's Gallifrey One :)
