AJ’s reaction to be called crazy
Smackdown - 22nd June 2012
Smackdown this week was a massive improvement from the previous week. We got fewer, lame squash matches and the general standard of wrestling was better.
The opening promo was pretty dull but having Teddy Long come out brought about some nostalgia, going back to when he was the GM and you wonder what direction he'll go in next. Big Show is going to be in the MiTB ladder match. I wonder if they're gonna bring out the special ladder for him, haha. Should he even be in the match though? He's a former multiple time world champion. Does he need this shot? I dunno.
Christian and Alberto del Rio had a good match but it really showed WWE's lack of continuity, which I hate. They hinted very vaguely to their rivalry the previous year but they said something like, "this is a big challenge for Christian". Uh, what? Yeah, I'm not too fussed with the finish. If Berto's going in as the number 1 contender against Sheamus, he has to look strong but it made Christian look a little weak as the IC champion. The match was good but maybe a clean finish wasn't necessary? Cody attacking Christian implies a rematch, which is good but at the same time it's repetitive though I'd rather this than Rhodes getting a premature main event push.
The tag team division got even more TV time this week when the Prime Time Players beat The Usos. The match was decent and it did what it needed to do. Backstage, Epico and Primo attacked them and AW, which was awesome because they might be building up to a legitimate tag team feud rather than the sloppily thrown together excuses for "feuds" that we usually get.
The filler this week was better than usual. It didn't overtake the entire show like it usually does. Slater lost to Ryder and Sandow confronted Ryder backstage. You have two characters there who are basically polar opposites so some kind of feud there could work well for Damien Sandow. There was a random segment with Santino picking out signs and making out with "a fan". It was entertaining, sure but it felt like a waste of time. Ryback squashed two local jobbers. Well, whoop-de-fucking-doo(!) That's new(!) AJ fucked over Bryan by ringing the bell when he hadn't won, which distracted him for long enough for Kane to pick up a win. I'm intrigued by what's going on here. It's not being too rushed but I hope to God it turns out AJ was on Bryan's side all along.
Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler had yet another match. Their matches have been awesome but this was, what, their 4th time in 2 weeks? That's a bit much, isn't it? And considering Vickie will be running both shows next week, we can expect she'll do whatever she can to give Dolph another title shot, which means there's a high possibility of seeing this match yet again. The match was decent but Dolph lost... Yet again, which made it feel even more pointless.
All in all, decent Smackdown. Everything had more relevancy and their was less filler than usual so... Good show.
Raw - 11th June 2012
So Raw on a whole was okay this week, surprisingly enough. Considering it was 3 hours (or rather 2 hours for me), I expected it to drag a lot more like it usually does... But it didn't so much.
I didn't really see the point in Tensai attacking Sakamoto after losing to Sheamus. I care about Sakamoto but not everyone is quite as affectionate as I am so somehow I doubt many people actually gave a crap about that.
All our current champions made an appearance tonight. This whole thing between Santino and Ricardo, whilst entertaining at times, is a little bit irrelevant. I mean, if Santino's a champion, why engage with someone like Ricardo? Beth Phoenix pinned Layla though so I'd assume she's taking on Layla on Sunday or at least in the following weeks.
For someone who doesn't like four-way matches, I really liked the elimination match between Ziggler, Swagger, Khali and Christian. As expected, Khali was eliminated first. Jack Swagger looked surprisingly decent in this match with his exchanged with Christian. Those two seemed to gel together pretty well but Christian's always been a versatile performer so perhaps that's no surprise. Ziggler eliminating Swagger was great and carried on pushing towards him breaking off from Vickie though in a sense, I feel like they're gone backwards in that aspect. Two weeks ago, he was being less dependent on Vickie and yet now it's like he's gone back to letting her speak for him etc. Ziggler won the match and he'll be facing Sheamus on Sunday so we can expect at least one awesome match.
Daniel Bryan cut a promo and dropped quite possibly one of the best lines I've ever heard, "Once you go Bryan, there's no point in trying. AW YEAH!". Or something. Well, whatever it was, it was hilarious. I swear, Bryan just looked like he was going to start laughing throughout that. Bryan's reaction to Kane's pyro is also brilliant. That is how everyone should react.
AJ was put in a tag team match with Punk against Daniel Bryan and Kane. This is just too fucking much because Kane's face every time AJ's around has me in stitches. So AJ mounts Kane and makes out with him while Punk is outside the ring and Bryan's watching, like, "holy shit". Fucking hell. What a fucking weirdo. I love AJ though. I hope to God she screws over Punk and Kane on Sunday and Bryan wins the title. That would be A+.
If Punk drops that "I dig crazy chicks" line one more time, I will go insane. It's awful. Never use it again. When AJ kissed him and he's facepalm-ing and yet he's constantly (intentionally or not) flirting with her... God, you manslut. Make your mind up!
It was no surprise Laurinaitis didn't actually end up getting fired. Unfortunately, Big Show and Cena crashed the party and everything went downhill. Can I get some "BORING" chants?
And... I don't have much else to comment on. Except R-Truth's promo was fabulous and Little Jimmy needs to avenge him.
All in all, decent Raw considering it was three hours. However, I'm not looking forward to this permanent switch to three hours. Despite the extra time, we still got the same guys we see every week featured and I just don't think that's good use of time. There's also far too much time being spent on Smackdown stars. I realise Raw has more viewers but less time on Smackdown would be great. The more you feature Smackdown on Raw, the less likely people are to actually bother watching Smackdown.
Whatever~
Now I like Jack Swagger but...
As soon as Dolph Ziggler stopped teaming with him last week, his matches have basically been the best... Even though he's lost them all.
Last week he faced Sheamus on Smackdown. Best match of the night.
This week he had a rematch with Sheamus on Raw. Best match of the night.
This week he faced Christian on Smackdown. Best match of the night.
Guys, I think there's a pattern emerging here somewhere.
So with Orton suspended,
They need more babyfaces on there. They have, what, Sheamus and Christian?
I demand a push for Tyson Kidd.
And I wonder what Ziggler's gonna be doing on Smackdown now then... Considering, y'know, there are no babyfaces on there for him to work with...
EDIT: "there" being Smackdown ofc~
Lol so I finished Smackdown this morning, whilst in bed.
And fell asleep during the main event.
welp
No Cody Rhodes appearance? :(
Also, is it necessary to have 2 squash matches on the show? Brodus AND Ryback?
AJ/Kaitlyn could have been longer. Or if they wanted a quick match so badly, a DQ finish would have sufficed. Daniel Bryan was pretty hilarious though. Y'know, this could be a nice way to feature Derrick Bateman more on Smackdown...
Don't get me started on the whole Sheamus/Orton/ADR/Jericho crap. A tag team match AND THEN two singles matches? Really?
I don't even remember what else happened. Oh yeah, Big Show was like a schoolboy being told off by Laurinaitis. That was pretty amusing. Jack Swagger lost to R-Truth. Whatever. I'm not particularly looking forward to the match at Over The Limit for the tag team titles since Ziggler/Swagger's chances of winning are literally non-existent. Why use them as a filler tag team to lose all the time? Use someone else. -____-
Cesaro beat...someone. Oh yeah, A-Ry. Poor A-Ry. Aksana reveals Cesaro is now her "lover" and Teddy's facial expression is hilarious. Damien Sandow also cuts a fabulous promo backstage. He was so patronising with Striker, haha.
Oh yeah, Titus O'Neil and Darren Young beat Santino and Ryder. What has happened to Zack, man? Remember when I hated Titus though? Haha. He's growing on me with Darren Young now. I quite like them as a team and they're being featured on TV regularly.
Smackdown was below average.
When did Orton earn a title shot?
Serious question.
How did he earn this title shot against Sheamus?
Alberto del Rio became the #1 Contender on Smackdown around a month ago.
Chris Jericho pinned Sheamus on Raw this week.
Randy Orton did... What exactly?
WHY IS IT SO NECESSARY FOR HIM TO BE ON EVERY SINGLE PPV?! SMH.
Ugh. Not looking forward to this match. Not only am I not a big fan of Fatal Four Way matches but with these 4... I'm not feeling this. ¬¬
I don't understand having the RAW Rewind on Smackdown though.
Smackdown has fewer viewers.
If you're watching Smackdown, you'll most likely be a Raw viewer too.
So why would you want to see a RAW Rewind if you watched the full show already?
Like, surely you're watching Smackdown for a reason other than the RAW Rewind?
Watched Smackdown,
I'm just going to say once again that it needs to be live. I didn't read spoilers this week but what also annoys me is the pumped in fake noise. It sounds awful. Stop it.
Daniel Bryan's promo was great, haha. Ricky and Berto's appearance was wonderful. Big Show... Not so much. Cody in jeans is always wonderful though. That being said, him losing to Khali and barely getting one over Show isn't making him look good going into Extreme Rules.
The diva's match between Nikki and Alicia Fox wasn't bad at all. Y'know how Kharma debuted at Extreme Rules? What if tomorrow, y'know...
AJ slapping Kaitlyn was A+. I was just watching like, "Bitch please. You're with Derrick Bateman. EASY FOR YOU TO SAY", haha.
Orton RKO-ing Mahal was dumb. Is anyone even following his crappy angle with Kane? Really? That interview was just BOOOOOOOOOR-ING.
CESARO WAS WONDERFUL. THE FEELINGS... HIS ENTRANCE... Why did they give him a proper entrance if it was a try out match though? He beat Tyson Kidd, as expected. It was a short match, as expected, unfortunately. That uppercut at the end was brutal. But when Aksana was glued to him, omg. And Teddy's face when she kissed him... Hilarious. Can't say we didn't see this coming.
Eve as Laurinaitis's assistant whatsit thingy is perfect. She's so annoying and seems to patronising and crap, it's wonderful.
Another tag team champion sighting! That's twice this week! A W is also awesome. I like him.
It's also funny because I actually find Titus O'Neil entertaining now. He and Darren Young make a good team. I used to hate Titus but he's been pretty decent as of late. And they won another match! This time against Yoshi :( and Zeke (who cares?).
I skipped through most of the main event though. Whoops~ Sheamus obviously won and he and Bryan had a bit of a staredown. I hope Bryan pins him/makes him tap out AT LEAST ONCE tomorrow.
plz
So overall, I enjoyed the show?
Anyway, I'm a month, A WHOLE MONTH, behind on ROH. I'm halfway through Showdown in the Sun Night 1 right now. Watching Coleman & Alexander vs Haas & Benjamin. Yayayayayay :D
EDIT: Totally forgot about Ryback. Standard squash. At least there was more focus on the ring than The Usos backstage? Jacob Kaye was wonderful, haha. Poor guy. Great promo though! :')
Smackdown just got very european
…and so begins the Antonio Cesaro era in the WWE!!
CESARO
DEBUT PROMO CESARO ALREADY CLAUDIO SO SOON HOW AJSFAJANLBSGBA DOES THAT MEAN WE'LL GET OHNO SOON TOO
Did anyone else feel like Piper's Pit was like Jeremy Kyle? Hahahaha. Oh dear.
Sheeeeeeettttttttt.
If Foley's on Smackdown, I expect Ambrose's debut promo.
I will be severely disappointed otherwise and no matter which way I look at it, it will be a greatly missed opportunity with an incredible talent, which will result in me branding this live show as a failure.
FAILURE.
#SaveYoshiTatsu
SOUNDS GOOD TO ME. :')
Lol. Smackdown reports are essentially saying Ryback sucks.
They are making this judgment based on one match he had with a local jobber.
OKAY THEN. Because you can infer so much about a wrestler's ability from that, can't you?
Idec about the guy but I just felt the need to point this out.
