RUN
Tenzo was born in Konoha village. But when he was 10 years old, his family decided to move to Kirigakure. This is because his father and mother decided to open a plant cultivation and garden creation business, and they believed that the business prospects would be better if done in Kirigakure.
Now Tenzo is 20 years old, he asks his mother's permission to go home for a while to Konoha. He wants to refresh for a while because he is tired of continuing to argue with his father. His father wants Tenzo to continue the family business. But tenzo isn't interested. All he wants is to become a karate athlete. This day his father has an event out of town, so Tenzo decides to ask his mother for permission to return to Konoha for a moment. His mother allowes it, but only for one day so that when his father come home Tenzo will already be at home, so his father will not have to fuss looking for Tenzo. Tenzo agrees, it is not a problem, as long as he can refresh for a moment in the village of his birth.
Today by the morning train Tenzo arrived in Konoha. When he set foot at the station, Tenzo breathed in the fresh Konoha air which immediately brought him memories of his childhood. First goal, Tenzo decided to look back at his house first. Tenzo decided to just walk while looking at which parts had changed, and which were still the same as before. When turning onto a road not far from his old house, Tenzo was hit by a man and fell. He was wearing a coat and had a scarf around his neck, but Tenzo couldn't see his face because the man's hat covered part of his face. The man immediately ran without apologizing to Tenzo. Tenzo stood up while cursing the man in his heart. A second later, a middle-aged woman shouted, "Thieve......heeeelp...that man took my bag..." the woman shouted, pointing at the man who had hit Tenzo. Tenzo suddenly turned around and ran after the thief. Hearing the middle-aged woman's screams, the thief accelerated his run. So do Tenzo.
Not far from there, there is a pedestrian bridge. On the bridge, Kakashi was recording with his camera. He wanted to look for a good spot and also pay attention to people passing by for the purposes of making his short film. Suddenly Kakashi's attention was attracted to the scene of chasing two men. With his camera, Kakashi followed their run. The man being chased was wearing a coat, scarf and hat exactly like the one kakashi was wearing. Kakashi himself wondered why the man's clothes resembled his. Meanwhile, the man who was chasing had dark brown hair, wear a green sweater and jeans. The man who was being chased decided to climb the bridge stairs and ran towards Kakashi then went down again. A few seconds later the man who was chasing reached the top of the bridge and ran towards Kakashi. Suddenly the man stopped right in front of Kakashi and said "Here you are!" Kakashi was shocked and confused, then he lowered his camera. "Why are you holding the camera?" asked the dark brown haired man. Kakashi became increasingly confused. The man in front of him said "Never mind... the important thing is now you can't run anymore!" Before Kakashi had time to digest the situation, the man had already thrown a punch at his face. Kakashi immediately fell, as did the camera in his hand.
One hour later...Tenzo sat on a chair in the police station waiting room. Not far from him, Kakashi also sat down while compressing his left cheek which was bruised from Tenzo's blow. Tenzo looked down, not daring to look at Kakashi. He felt very guilty because he thought that Kakashi was the thief and had hit him. Not long after, the woman appeared with a police officer.
"So...it seems like there's a bit of a misunderstanding here. We've got the information. And we will start looking for the thief. We will immediately notify you, ma'am, as soon as we catch the thief," said the police officer to the woman who owned the bag. He looked at Tenzo and Kakashi then bowed. The woman, Tenzo and Kakashi left the police station. "Thank you very much for trying to help me" said the mother to Tenzo "and... I hope you get well soon" said the mother to Kakashi... see you..." the woman bowed then turned away leaving Tenzo and Kakashi who still applying the compress to his cheek.
Tenzo reluctantly faced Kakashi and he immediately bowed deeply.. "I am truly sorry and very sorry for my actions earlier...please forgive me..." Kakashi smiled while holding back the pain on his cheek "Never mind... it's okay... I've forgiven you... it was just a misunderstanding, right..."
"But....I still feel guilty...."
"Um... are you in a hurry?" Tenzo asked
"How about I treat you to hot chocolate? I know a place that sells the best hot chocolate here..." Tenzo cupped his hands with a pleading look...
"Okay..." Kakashi smiles.
Not long after, Tenzo and Kakashi were sitting on a bench in the Konoha park, holding a glass of hot chocolate.
"I thought we were going to drink this chocolate at the shop..." said Kakashi
"Drinking there is also delicious, but trust me, this is the best place in Konoha to sit and enjoy a warm drink while chatting with other people..." said Tenzo while smiling at Kakashi. For a moment, Kakashi felt something in his heart when he saw Tenzo's smile. Kakashi immediately turned his gaze to the warm chocolate in his hand and drank it. The delicious taste of chocolate, the warmth, the fresh air around, and the faint sounds in the garden combined into one. Kakashi felt very comfortable and peaceful.
"You're right, it feels really good...and peaceful..."
Tenzo smiled in relief. "My name is Tenzo," he said, giving him his right hand.
"Kakashi" Kakashi answered while shaking Tenzo's hand. "Are you from here, tenzo?"
"Yeah...I was born here, but 10 years ago we moved to Kirigakure..."
"Then...why are you here now?"
Tenzo sighed... "Because...I wanted to relax for a moment..." Tenzo realized that he had only just met Kakashi, but for some reason he felt comfortable telling Kakashi. "Lately I've been arguing a lot with my father. He really wants me to continue the family business, taking care of the plants, selling them, making gardens for other people. It's not that I don't like it, but I have my own dream..."
"I want to be a karate athlete. I found myself when I practiced karate and competed...And I felt very happy when I could get a medal and win the championship..."
"But...father said that being a karate athlete doesn't have a bright future, you can't make money...For me the happiness of being able to be yourself is more valuable than getting money..." Tenzo's gaze wandered forward. Meanwhile Kakashi's gaze turned to Tenzo. There was silence for a moment, then Tenzo realized.
"Sorry...I talked too much, didn't I?" tenzo scratched his head.
"What about you kakashi, are you from here?"
"Me? No...I'm from Kunagakure..."
"Oh...then what brings you here?"
"I...am making a movie..."
"Ah... not really..." Kakashi felt nervous because he was praised by Tenzo.
"Is that your dream...to make a film?"
"Yes... that is my dream. I want to become a film director. But... it's not easy either... I have applied to several film companies, but no one has accepted me. I have also offered several film scripts, but no one accepted it, they said my script wasn't interesting enough. That's how..." Kakashi exhaled, his gaze wandering. Tenzo watched him from the side, he felt touched.
"Then...what film are you making now?" Tenzo asked enthusiastically.
"Oh... this is a film that I plan to enter in a short film competition. The winner can get a cash prize and will be accepted for an internship at a famous film company. Actually, I'm not too confident, but I think there's no harm in trying..."
"What's the story about?" Tenzo was curious.
"Um... about someone who keeps running after his dreams. The scenes in this film are dominated by the main character's running scenes. He keeps running and never stops, even though he has to fall several times, he will get up and run again..."
"Wow...what a great story...Have you found anyone to be the actor?"
"Not yet. Um... actually I was looking for a spot for a scene in my film, and I didn't expect to see you running after the thief hahaha..."
Tenzo was silent for a moment then said confidently "Kakashi, I will help you."
"Huh???" Kakashi doesn't understand yet.
"Let me be the actor in your film. All I need to do is run, right?"
"Don't worry, I'll run with all of my heart! You haven't forgotten that I'm a karate athlete, right? I'm used to running every day to train my physique." Tenzo smiled and blinked one eye.
"Okay." Kakashi smiled back. So they started making the film. Kakashi gave Tenzo directions about what he should do and Tenzo did it wholeheartedly. It didn't feel like time had passed and dusk decorated the evening sky. Tenzo and Kakashi sat on the pedestrian bridge near the konoha park, resting while drinking fruit juice and enjoying the setting sun.
"Thank you very much, Tenzo..." Kakashi didn't expect that Tenzo was really strong enough to run and he felt he had gotten the scenes he needed for the film.
"No problem, I'm happy to be able to help. Besides, actually I still feel bad because I hit you earlier hehehe..." said tenzo.
Kakashi smiled. A moment of silence. They felt a comfortable feeling in their hearts.
"Um...can I see your camera?"
"Oh yes of course." Kakashi gave his camera to Tenzo.
"I've never held a camera like this. How do I use it?" Kakashi then taught Tenzo how to use it and Tenzo tried to record people in the park. This was his first experience using a camera, Tenzo felt excited. Suddenly the camera stops on a scene. "That man!!!" Tenzo shouted
Kakashi looked from the camera that Tenzo was pointing at the park. That's right... that's the thief who stole the woman's bag this morning and now he's on the move again, taking a wallet from another woman's bag. "We have to catch him!" Tenzo said.
"What? Now?" asked kakashi.
Tenzo returned the camera to Kakashi and immediately ran towards the thief in the park. Kakashi immediately put his camera into his backpack then ran after Tenzo. While in the park, apparently the thief still remembered Tenzo so he ran. Then there was another chase like this morning. When the thief was trapped in a dead end alley he tried to fight Tenzo with a penknife. Kakashi was surprised. But Tenzo calmly and confidently threw his kick until it hit the thief's face, he and the knife both fell. Kakashi couldn't believe what he was seeing, while Tenzo smiled while giving a thumbs up.
A few moments later they were back at the police station. The thief could no longer avoid it because there was video evidence from Kakashi's camera. The police thank Tenzo and Kakashi. The two of them then left the police station and walked towards the park.
"It's a relief that the thief was finally caught..." Tenzo walked while stretching his arms.
"Yeah... today there were a lot of unexpected events..." answered Kakashi who was walking next to Tenzo while putting both hands in his coat pockets.
Tenzo suddenly remembered something, tonight he had to go back home, so he had to go to the station immediately.
"Kakashi...I have to go back to Kirigakure, so I have to get to the station quickly so I don't miss the train..."
Tenzo bowed his body towards Kakashi "Once again I apologize for hitting you earlier..."
"Never mind... it's okay..." said Kakashi with a smile. "Today there were a lot of unexpected events. Thank you for helping me make my film, Tenzo. I...will not give up, I will continue to work...making films, until one day my film is recognized by other people. Thank you very much for today, tenzo. I feel like today is a day I will never forget."
"I won't forget today either. I've decided, I will also continue to run after my dreams, even if I fall, I will get up and run again to achieve it. Thank you, Kakashi." The night breeze blew gently, it felt like time stopped spinning for a moment for the two of them.
"Oh...I have to get to the station. Otherwise I might miss the train. See you later, Kakashi." Tenzo bowed once again then turned and ran towards the station.
"Wait... will you come here again, tenzo?" Kakashi shouted
Tenzo stopped running and turned to face Kakashi. "A month from now, I will come here to take part in the international karate championship. Byeeee kakashi!"
Kakashi smiled, as he continued to watch Tenzo run towards the station.
The international karate championship has just finished. Tenzo gets a gold medal. He couldn't wait to show his father and mother. Oh yes, regarding his father, Tenzo told his father that he would continue to fight to realize his dream of becoming a great karate athlete. Whatever happens, he will not stop running to achieve his dreams. His father gave up and let Tenzo follow his choice. And Tenzo was determined to prove it through this championship with a gold medal and he succeeded in getting it.
But... before returning to Kirigakure, a feeling of longing emerged in his heart, which without realizing it made him walk towards the park. Tenzo was surprised, because there was a large white screen in the park. People in the park were also curious about the screen. A moment later something appeared on the screen, like a movie scene. Looks like someone is running. He kept running. Even though he fell, he got up and ran again. Tenzo realized that the person in the film was him!
Suddenly a soft voice right behind him said, a voice of someone he missed a lot.
"The judges praised the actor's acting in the film."
"Nice to meet you again Tenzo. The film won first place and next week is the prize presentation. Do you want to accompany me to the event....and keep running....with me, Tenzo?"
Tenzo smiled sincerely "I do".
