Okay this is my first year knowing about the goat and while I was quite neutral at first, I have become fully invested in seeing the goat burn because there is not a single mention of any kind of fire damage on the official FAQ. The birds eating the straw has been adressed and what measures have been taken, also security measures such as bag bans and a fenced off area is mentioned. Why this is needed is simply ignored.

I like to envision a small task force working day and night to find a description without saying what they mean. Peak phrasing, I just can't with the denial.

I dont really care if you use the term bisexual or pansexual, but what i DO care about is that you understand that bisexuality at NO stage in history was EVER trans-exclusionary. Bisexuality has always included trans folks, and non-binary folks, and the entire spectrum of gender between male and female, as well as Definitively Gender and agender. It has ALWAYS meant "attraction to more than one gender." It has NEVER meant "attraction to cis men and women only."

So, pan, bi, use whichever label you will. But do NOT buy into the recent-years innacurate concept that bisexuality is attraction to cis men and women only, because thats literally never been the case.

My perfect thick idiot son, Calvin, who has never done anything wrong in his entire life except today when I let him climb my young redbud tree and he went to the highest branch and wedged himself in the crook of it and wouldn't budge and he's so big I was afraid that he might break the branch so I had to get a stepladder and get him down while the neighborhood jays that come by for peanuts whenever they see me in the yard freaked out and sat screaming on the fence to warn me that there's a snake very near me because I'm obviously too stupid to see it and clearly in mortal peril.

Let me wear my clown mask. 911: Hawaii with Tommy as the lead. Here we go!

  1. Diving into Tommy's family history. His tumultuous relationship with his father. Maybe his mother is dead, or maybe they have a pretty good relationship and she's hurt that he moved so far away from her.
  2. Revisiting his time in the army. How he was there during the height of DADT. How that impacted him, even though he was nowhere near ready to be out at that point anyway.
  3. Leading the team, maybe the first gay captain this station has ever had (it's 911, they'll make something of it). He's not one to really announce his sexuality, so it doesn't come out until they get sent on a call and someone is being a homophobe (or being harassed in some way).
  4. He starts family dinners at his station, because that was one of the biggest impacts Bobby had on him. However, he's not great at cooking so when they have spaghetti night for the fourth time in a row, they decide to all take turns cooking dinner instead.
  5. The first time he gets hurt it's not on the job. He's hiking and he ends up falling down a cliff and has to be rescued. He doesn't expect his entire team to show up in his hospital room with gifts and treats. When he tells them they didn't have to come, he's surprised by the looks of confusion as the probie says, "Of course we came? We're family." He holds off on the tears until after they leave.
  6. There's a District Captain that leads a group of lifeguards that his station finds themselves working with a lot. He's kind, funny, a good leader, and hot as hell. He and Tommy could go toe to toe in a sarcasm-battle any day. No one is ever sure who would win. One thing everyone is sure of, is that these two like each other. If only they'd figure that out themselves!
  7. Said district captain also helps Tommy to loosen up a bit. He sees Tommy for the mess he is, and he likes the mess, and he also likes to tell Tommy his posture doesn't always have to be so perfect.
  8. Tommy becomes fiercely protective of his team in ways he didn't even imagine he ever would. He beats himself up after someone on his crew gets hurt, tries to think of all the ways he screwed up so it doesn't happen again. The team has to remind him that it wasn't his fault, this stuff happens sometimes, and no one blames him.
  9. Oh yeah, when the district captain is hurt one day, Tommy comes over to bring him soup but ends up staying for three days just taking care of him. Doesn't even think about it.
  10. And when Tommy gets hurt (again) that same captain comes to take care of Tommy. Tommy tries to say, over and over, that he can take care of himself. This guy won't hear of it though. Outright tells Tommy to shut up and let him help or he's gonna be pissed. Tommy doesn't fight it.
  11. Tommy Begins.
  12. Shirtless Tommy at the beach.
  13. We could have so many helicopter crashes. So many!

I'm adding more because (for now) I live in a free country.

  1. Tommy rescues a dog (thank you anon) from a backyard breeder and although her tag says "Val" he calls her Buddy. She's the first being Tommy is 100% honest with. She knows secrets no one else ever will, and she never judges him.
  2. Tommy has a list of things he hates about himself. Literally, an actual written out list of all the things past and present that he hates about himself. Every time he screws up at work, he adds to his list. He doesn't recognize how unhealthy this is. It's actually something his dad started doing to him when he was young, so he could "remember his mistakes forever."
  3. We'll call the above-mentioned district captain Eli. Eli finds this list when he's taking care of Tommy after Tommy gets injured on the job. Tucked in a junk drawer in the kitchen when he was trying to find a ladle. He doesn't say anything until after Tommy is healed. This leads to their first fight (as friends).
  4. During this fight, Tommy is pissed at Eli for snooping through his things. Eli's pissed at Tommy for thinking so little of himself. He knew Tommy had issues, but he didn't know Tommy actively hated everything about himself. Tommy asks why the hell it matters?? And Eli yells back that it matters because half the stuff Tommy wrote on that list are reasons why Eli lo- cares about him so damn much!
  5. There's a certain point where someone gives Tommy a compliment and Tommy immediately stresses out because he doesn't want to be thought of as just the "cool guy" anymore. He confides this to Eli who just starts laughing and laughing, and guarantees Tommy that no one thinks of him as the cool guy. Tommy should be offended, he knows, but he's just endlessly relieved.
  6. He starts going to therapy after his nightmares come back. He's not even sure what happens in the nightmares. Doesn't understand them, barely remembers them after he wakes up yelling with sweat pouring down his face. But he can never fall back to sleep afterward.
  7. He actually forces himself to go to therapy because he wakes up so violently from the nightmares that he no longer trusts himself to sleep at work, and he's not really sleeping at home either. He tries falling asleep in his office, and even tries sleeping in one of the firetrucks, but he's too anxious. His exhaustion nearly causes him to make a potentially deadly mistake and that's when he knows something has to be done.
  8. He starts movie nights with his crew. They all bring snacks and sit in his living room and watch a movie. Afterward, they all discuss their favorite/least favorite parts and dissect its deeper meaning (if there is one).
  9. He thinks he's terrible at giving heartfelt advice, mostly because no one ever gave him heartfelt advice growing up, but for some reason every time anyone on his team has a problem they come directly to him and cling to every word he says.
  10. The first time the team sees Tommy get mad, they're terrified. Because he somehow becomes bigger when he's angry?? Thankfully, he's not angry at anyone on his team, he's angry at another captain from a nearby station for putting his team in danger. It's a mistake that captain will not make twice!!

Buck goes to Hen and Karen’s house.

He doesn’t know why he didn’t come here before. It’s been a week and a half since the breakup and it only occurred to him after his talk with Maddie and Chim that maybe he should get a queer perspective on his situation. That, and Hen doesn’t coddle him. She’ll tell him where he fucked up.

He shows up on their doorstep with five loaves—one for each Wilson and an extra because he needs to make all the room in his fridge he possibly can for the next time he’s sobbing into his Kitchenaid at 3am.

“I just don’t know what to do now,” he says over a steaming mug of tea at their dining room table. “I don’t know what- what pond to jump into now.”

He’s met with equally confused faces from both Hen and Karen.

“What do you mean ‘what pond’?” Hen asks.

“You know, like, dating. Maddie and Chim said I need to jump back into the pond, but I don’t know which one I’m supposed to jump into now. Before Tommy, obviously, there was no question. But now, I don’t- I don’t know who I’m supposed to date. Which- which gender.”

Hen and Karen exchange a quick, confused, are you hearing what I’m hearing glance.

Blair Imani made an excellent video that I really wanted to share with my white viewers, especially given the current climate. (Though, really, I could say everyone when it comes to antiblackness).

But yeah, we don't host these platforms just to hear ourselves talk 😅 It's not good enough anymore to go "oh, well, I know what's up so I'm Good" while you're passive in a space (fandom and outside), where The Problem is socially acceptable and in fact, encouraged. Especially when you have power in the space. Be willing to get uncomfortable. Be willing to speak up when your favorite creators are racist, or at least unfollow them and stop supporting their work. Have these conversations with your friends when they come up, even when they're going to be hard. Allyship requires action, and it's the- well, y'all know what I was bout to say. 👍🏾
