look Jon and Sansa remain my favorite part of watching this show because they get to argue with each other, and make salient points about their own perspectives and what their experiences have taught each other, and it’s not one person shouting down another. It isn’t the constant ‘another smug story about the time you won’ Tywin, or too-clever Tyrion and Varys, or Cersei’s sheer out-gunning people. It’s two people having an actual discussion.

Moreover, they usually tend to actually resolve their arguments by the end of the argument. Sure, they have tensions that run throughout their relationship, what with Sansa’s rampant fear and mistrust of everyone and Jon’s rather single-minded (justifiably) focus. But they don’t argue and hate. They argue and argue and argue and love. They take potshots at each other and then say something to take it back. They shout over each other only for the conversation to continue and calm down. They may walk away angry but you’re gonna see them the next episode, talking it out again because they love each other.

For sure this episode I think A) Sansa shouldn’t have started that discussion in front of his men and B) Jon should’ve probably ran that by her beforehand. (Not for permission, before anyone starts, but because he’s seated her by his left hand, he wants her there, he at least on some level wants her counsel, and you know. It’s her home too. She helped get him there.) But also, wonder of wonders, they got to tell each other this. Jon got to express frustration that she undermined him and Sansa that he cut her out of a decision. For all that they are terrible at communication, they also seem to be the only people on this show actually communicating.

this is one of the best explanations for why Jonsa is the best relationship on this show. They talk, they argue, they have a go at each other but then things are resolved and they both put thought and effort into not repeating the mistakes that got them to fight in the first place.

Aye! Every time they have a go at each other, just wait two seconds and next thing you know they will heap praise, validation and care upon each other. Like, ‘sorry baby I did not mean to shout, here have my kingdom as a sign of my love’

I know “love” can be blind, but riddle me this...

Jon, who hated Joffrey’s pompous, self-important attitude

…is supposed to be in love with someone who pompously and self-importantly cites all her titles and achievements whenever she introduces herself?

Jon, who thought Grenn, who “came from a farm,” deserved as much honor as the King of Giants, last of his bloodline…

…is supposed to be amazed and fascinated by someone who thinks she is super special and deserves everything she wants because she is the “last of her bloodline”?

Jon, who did not want to be known as the Man-who-came-back-from-the-dead and did not want to be seen as “some kind of God”…

 …is supposed to see his “other half” in someone who fully enjoys being idolized and worshipped like a Goddess, i.e. people kneeling in front of her in the dust, worshipping her like the proverbial golden calf???

If Political!Jon is supposed to be OOC,  then how exactly is this supposedly blind devotion to D “in character” for Jon???

It don’t add up, people…it don’t add up.

Agreed. Whenever I see the suggestion that he’s in love with this idea of her, the image she projects, I just… That makes no sense. Because that’s not the kind of person he appreciates at all. And it’s not just all the titles and her self-importance and violent impulses and mercurial temper.

Behind the curtain there’s just more of the same. Even when they’ve been alone, even in moments of vulnerability, she’s shown her true colors:

  • she needs to be special;
  • in fact, she finds the idea of being like everyone else so tragic it’s what she worries about in the Dragonpit instead of promising Jon she’ll commit to the fight regardless of the outcome of Tyrion’s private meeting with Cersei;
  • she’s so in love with her “children”, she doesn’t care how dangerous and terrifying they are to everyone else;
  • she doesn’t understand the history of Westeros or her family’s part in it and despite having ample time on her hands, she’s done nothing to change it;
  • she doesn’t express any worry, care, or relief about Jon and his health and the fact that he managed to return to the Wall after almost drowning. She doesn’t ask him how he’s feeling, she doesn’t apologize for being a creep who enters his cabin while he’s sleeping to sit on his bed and stare at him. Even though he nearly died, it’s still all about her and what she wants.

And the one moment when he showed vulnerability? That moment when he showed her the cave paintings and admitted that he believed they’d lose the war against the dead without her help?

Instead of listening to him and discussing an alliance, she used his fear to her advantage and told him that his pride would get his people killed. That if only he got rid of that pride and bent the knee already, she would fight for the North, as though she’s more than fine to let the North give their lives by shielding the rest of the world against the dead until she could be arsed to defend all those kingdoms of which she claims she’s the rightful ruler and protector.

Remember his reaction to that?

He’s not humbled because she, of all people, called him out for being proud. Look at his eyes. That’s deep and heartbreaking disappointment. That’s him being dejected because now he knows for sure exactly what she is.

And looking at the rest of the acting…?

No, Jon loving D/ny doesn’t add up. The guy detests her.

Reason #22: Kit Harington vs. Sansa Stark - *THAT* interview

Confession: the ‘Reason 22 meta’ was actually supposed to be about Joffrey but then this happened. I watched it. The interview with Kit Harington that everyone is freaking out about because it supposedly shows how Kit/Jon hates Sansa and people have called it misogynist and all kinds of other stuff…

And I was really scared to watch it but OMG this is the BEST THING I have seen in a long time…

Here’s the link, in case you do want to see it before…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSE_EJi-6vo&app=desktop

First off all, Kit acknowledges Sansa’s “out thinking” Ramsay and thus winning the BotB and saving Jon’s butt…

…and then out of nowhere it just gets hilarious because am I the only one who can hear Kit laughing and laughing while he allegedly “bitches” about Sansa???

Like…

He’s laughing his ass off while he’s saying these things and it’s actually making me laugh because I can’t take seriously what he is saying when he’s laughing like that and nervously scratching his forehead and you can hear people also laughing in the background when he says how “annoying” Sansa is…

He looks straight into the camera the entire interview, maintaining a mostly serious and straight to the point narrative when telling Jon’s story —

But as soon as he has to speak about Sansa and make us believe that Jon is oh-so-plagued by her, Kit can’t keep a straight face, can’t look into the camera but keeps looking ANYWHERE and mostly helplessly at the people in the background who are also laughing as if they are all sharing the biggest joke ever…

How am I supposed to believe they are NOT trolling us when they are laughing about their own joke already???

I don’t know what others are getting from this interview, but this is what I saw and heard:

Kit praises Sansa coming in at BotB, saying how smart she is and how she saved them…

Suddenly…

Kit: “This is where I get so frustrated with Sansa…drives me mad…” [starts laughing] “...it drives me mad.”

They even skip over the whole “undermining” thing from 7x01 - which would have made sense for Kit to comment on bc there *was* an actual argument but NOPE they just skip right to the moment where Jon announces he is going South…

Kit then talks about how he has to take the risk, there is no other choice for their survival but to go South and they show Sansa’s “you’re abandoning your people” speech…cut right off before Jon says he will leave it in her hands

Kit: “Again this…conversation” [barely suppressed grin] “…with Sansa comes up…” [loses his shit laughing] “...why is...” [can barely talk laughing] “...sorry…” [has to look away from camera shaking with laughter to the side] “...I’m getting really annoyed with Sansa...” [looks at someone off screen, tries to pull it together but still laughing and grinning idiotically] “...well he kinda like…she’s..you know…’why are you going South?’” [still doesn’t look at camera but at the floor] “…and he’s like ‘well because we’re all gonna die otherwise’…and she’s like ‘well you can’t do it’…errr…it just drives me mad” [starts laughing again] “...it drives me mad...”

Cut to Sansa’s face looking worried at Jon while Kit keeps talking…

“…that she…keeps coming up with these nonsensical suggestions...” Cut to Kit staring into the camera barely able to hide grin and contain laughter, face literally glowing
I’ve got really animated now that…now that…” [breaks out laughing his ass off] “…Sansa’s come into the story…” [again looks laughing at someone behind camera and person in backgroud starts laughing along with him] ”...I don’t know why…I did not realize this annoyed me so much…” [starts laughing again] “...sorry!”

They literally had to cut off the interview at this point because he was losing it, then cut back to [Kit looking down and scratching his forehead, still laughing] “It’s like a Jon Snow therapy session.”

Lord knows what went on in that bit that was cut here, but he and the guys in the background needed a moment to calm the eff down.

What kills me even more is the entire rest of the interview before and after “the Sansa incident”, the way he narrates how Jon meets Dany and how he is attracted to her and how they are “not so secret lovers” in the end going to WF is completely straight faced, serious, sober, like zero emotion, zero enthusiasm, zero depth…

Meanwhile Kit is forced to talk about Sansa and Jon and he loses his shit, fidgeting and laughing like a nervous little boy, unable to contain himself and people in the background laughing as if they get the joke that he is trying to hide…

I mean…seriously?

Poor guy…

It’s like he had a nervous breakdown…

Also he keept REPEATING how “mad” Sansa makes Jon/him:

“…Sansa…drives me mad…” [starts laughing] “...it drives me mad.

“…it just drives me mad” [starts laughing again] “...it drives me mad…”

Ok, Kit. We know what you want to say. Jon is *MADLY* in love with Sansa.

Thanks for confirming that :)

He acted like a teenage boy who got caught by his friends that he’s been in love with a girl he’s been pretending dislike her all along and he had to laugh his ass off to cover his exposed secret. Look at his body language. Kit, you have a secret. We’ve been known.

You know when I woke up this morning and started hearing about this interview I won’t lie when I say I got a little worried but this goes hand in hand with the interview where Kit says Sansa twists him (Jon) like no one can. He can’t even contain himself here it’s actually quite adorable

Littlefinger: I love Sansa. As I loved her mother.

Jon turns and in a lightening move identical to that of his father in Episode 103, grabs Littlefinger by the throat and pins him, hard against the wall.

Jon: Touch my sister, and I’ll kill you myself.

Jon releases him, looks at him with disdain and walks away.

And Littlefinger gasps for air, alone in the crypt with Ned’s bones.

Jon emerges from the crypt and enters the yard.

Sansa watches him from up the catwalk as he mounts his horse. Jon takes a last look at his sister, who raises her hand in farewell, then rides out of the gate. Davos and the company of Stark soldiers follow.

Sansa Stark, Lady of Winterfell, looks out after them, not noticing that Littlefinger has emerged from the crypt, rubbing his neck where Jon grabbed him.

He watches the King in the North ride away.
