I felt like the sun meditation encouraged me to be creative and I had the motivation to experiment and make a strawberry basil margarita when I got back inside. Strawberries are starting to be in season here and I grew the basil myself!
You can make the syrup base with honey and chopped strawberries to simmer in a pan for a few minutes. Make sure the strawberries are mashed. (If you have a blender that’s better but some of us are broke)
When the syrup is finished, strain it and take a few basil leaves, smack your hands together with them in there (it helps release oils) and put it in the hot syrup to steep.
The margarita is 50ml reposado tequila
Half a squeezed lime
25ml strawberry basil honey syrup
Shake it with a few ice cubes hard then strain and it will come out frothy (unlike this picture lol)
It was really nice and so vibrant and solar.
Danielle Nierenberg, President of Food Tank, shares a sustainability pro-tip in honor of Earth Day. Instead of wasting leftover pasta water by pouring it down the sink, you can save it, let it cool and use it to water your plants. The starchy H2O will give them a beneficial nutrient boost and help them grow. Just be sure to avoid using cooking water that has been salted or seasoned.
This also applies to leftover water from boiling spinach, potatoes, and hardboiled eggs, according to Reader’s Digest.
this definitely is an amazing thing to plants, it gives them a boost like NOTHING that can be bought in stores. ive had an orange plant that didnt bloom for years and then gave them some pasta/potato water twice a week, and now its blooming like crazy , pretty much over night. and plants that were looking kind of drawn are looking BEAUTIFUL!
Rose Hips Oats Recipe from Fox meets Bear I love seasonal magic like this that is close to what the local earth is doing and helps you adjust to the new seasons. Rose hips is great for vitamin C and I find it personally to be a mood booster. It’s in season around now and is great to enjoy as the days get darker and we edge closer to winter.
Make this recipe into a calming spell with a few ingredients and your added energy!
- Kava 2 tea spoons Make sure that you react well to Kava though cause some people really don’t like it or have a nice reaction
- A dash of nutmeg blends the kava flavor together better
- Optional: some eggnog for flavor and creaminess caramel syrup
At Step 2 When you finally dissolve the instant coffee you should add the kava and nutmeg in now. Stir clockwise and focus your energy on things that are calming and positive intention.
After Step 3 add some eggnog if you wish that will help cool it down a little.
After step 4 drizzle the caramel syrup in a symbol that will promote calm and peace. Even a heart or peace sign will be great it does not have to be complicated.
