Prompt: Steven has a nightmare
His breath hit the skin of your shoulder as he leaned against you, his skin hot and sticky, beads of sweat traveled from his forehead to your cheek. You cupped his face with a hand, the other stroking his wet dark curls as you swayed back and forth, shushing his cries gently.
“It’s okay,” you whispered, “it was just a nightmare.”
The hand he had on your waist grabbed you tighter as he pulled you closer, clutching at you like he was afraid you’d let him go.
“They’re back,” he rasped.
“The voices?”
He nodded, a whine escaping from his lips.
“What are they saying?”
“It’s like…” he started, his voice broken and weak, trembling with fear and exhaustion. “It’s like they want me to go… to disappear. And take my place.”
“You don’t have to worry about that, love. I’ll never let them take you.”
“You promise?”
“I promise.”

Sooo this is my theory for episode 6. since Steven is in the duat and Marc in the afterlife. They have a chance to get to khonshu because Jake is STILL in the boat. Jake will be the one saving khonshu from imprisonment and bring the boys back
The boat was only Marc’s after life when he was on it. It represented Marc’s mind. Jake is not on the boat anymore but he is still in Marc’s mind and I think he’ll be the key to bringing Steven back in his mind as well.
Unless I’m wrong and Taweret is gonna find Jake on her boat and free him lol

The scales weren’t balancing because Marc was trying to protect Steven when it was supposed to be the other way around. That’s why the scales balanced when Steven protected Marc. It doesn’t mean Steven needed to die/disappear
