A pair of self portraits
Newly obsessed with the ttrpg Vaesen. Here’s my character Oddveig, a mycologist with the Sight.
I like to imagine that the Devil is so gentle and tender with each soul she collects.
Hope all you witches have the supplies you need, Halloween is almost upon us!
The Tower is an ominous card to pull in a tarot reading. No matter where or how it shows up, it indicates destruction. Unforeseen change. Crisis. Free fall. It doesn’t matter if it’s inverse, or if the surrounding cards are all lovely—there is no escaping the Tower, and there is no escaping its fall. Traditionally, the Tower is depicted in the act of its destruction, cracked and tumbling, but sometimes change is creeping. Sometimes it grows in silence, unobserved, for months or years before the change is evident. Much like mycelium.
Some books should be opened very, very carefully…
Of course I couldn’t go the whole month without a reference to Balder’s Gate!
This time of year, you might hear some skittering in your pantry or cabinets, but never fear, it’s just a candy corn rat, seeking our unattended candy to bring back to her burrow!
So many cultures have versions of the woman in white—a woman whose life was ended tragically, in a way that has barred her from having a peaceful afterlife. She might need justice, or vengeance, or simply closure, but until she finds it, she is doomed to walk this mortal plane, tormented and terrifying.
I used today’s prompt to add to my tarot card collection. The ace of birds indicates a moment of breakthrough, victory, and truth. When the ace of birds shows up in a reading, it is a good time to look for a new point of view, because that is the path to success! Now is the time to fine tune your goals, focus on clear communication, and to focus—victory is ahead, though it might be different than you originally anticipated.
Kept it simple today, I wanted time to go pumpkin pickin’!
Sneaking under the wire with this one, sometimes being chronically ill takes precedence over fun things like Drawlloween. Still love how this one came out, though!
