I wasn't expecting to finish much while I was still recovering from my surgery, but boredom and painkillers are a work of wonder and I already had most of this chapter finished.
Take heed of the warnings in the chapter, this one is pretty heavy.

It's too long for handwriting this time, but here's another excerpt from the first chapter of 'The Hands Life Dealt'.
“Alrighty, people, let’s get it moving. I’d like to lock up for the night.” Urbosa goaded the few girls lingering around the lounge counting their evening tips. Link looked back at Urbosa over his shoulder as she spoke before turning back to Zelda.
“You know, I have some coke and Bicardi upstairs if you’d like to keep talking.” Link said and Zelda shrugged.
“If you’re pouring, maybe.” She replied coyly, grabbing the tips she had made and turning to head back upstairs. She was met with an amused chortle and heard him getting up from the barstool to follow her upstairs.
“I’ve never met a bartender who didn’t want to make their own drinks.” He quipped and she shrugged.
“It’s rum and coke, it’s hard to mess up.” Zelda retorted as they started up the stairs.
“You didn’t even say yes to a drink either. Do you just want to talk? No pressure for drinking if you don’t want to.” Link added on, keeping pace with her easily up the stairs despite her head start. Zelda pursed her lips a bit as she fished out the keycard for the room out of her bra. She couldn’t help, but to recall the way he rolled his hips on the pole as he was performing and the bedroom eyes he made at the crowd. The heat that had been pooling in her lower abdomen during his performance returned quickly at the recollection of it and she swallowed thickly.
“Do you want me to be completely honest?” Zelda asked, turning to look at Link as she opened the door. He cocked his head slightly, curious of the lower tone in her voice.
“Shoot.”
“I don’t really feel like talking.” Zelda could see the brief moment of processing Link had to take before that arrogant smirk he had used on stage came back to his face and he took a cautious half-step forward. Had the door not been cracked open already, they’d be a hairsbreadth away instead of the few inches that separated them now. Was he actually considering…?
“What exactly would you like to do then?” His voice was darker and it made Zelda’s heart cartwheel and pound in her chest. She trailed her eyes down to look at his muscular legs, up his lean torso, up the tight shirt that strained over his shoulders and upper arms, and ending with those electric blue eyes again.
“If it’s okay with you, I’d like to see what else your hips can do.” Zelda replied, not recognizing the downright sultry voice that came out of her. Where did that come from? Actually- The look on LInk’s face made her not really care because he looked positively ready to snap and bend her in half.
“I’d be more than happy to show you on one condition.” Link said, reaching past her to open the door to their apartment and ushering her in. Zelda took the few steps into the entry needed for them both to be inside and the door to shut.
“What condition is that?” Zelda asked, setting her keycard and her tips on the counter. Link made sure the door was shut before turning and approaching her again, teasing her with how close he was without touching her and his eyes bored intensely into her own.
“Don’t get attached.”
