not anakin smiling blushing giggling kicking his feet when Padmé tells him obi-wan wants to help him sir wtf😭😭😭

he was THIS CLOSE to ask her in a silly voice “omg did he really??? so….do you think I have a chance??? my love sit down you have to describe me EVERY single facial expression he made while saying that and you have to tell me his EXACT words”

His smirk is more like; " Yeah, it's cute that he wants to help, I am sure he really means it, but, my love, it's pointless now"

It's a mixture of ( a touch of ) fondness for Obi wan, lots of arrogance about himself and condescension for both Obi wan and Padme, me thinks.

Obi wan's love for Anakin is so tragic.

Obi wan was always loyal to the jedi code. Principles came first, loyalty to people second. He was trained since infancy to be that way.

And he did that till his very end. Even tho he was never the same person after the events on Mustafar.

For he loved Anakin will all his heart. He knew deep down how attached Anakin could be and how dangerous that was. He knew he loved Anakin in ways a jedi shouldn't have. He knew how it killed him on the inside when he chopped off Anakin's body, being true to his cause.

He is one of the selfless people in the star wars universe. He put ideals such as democracy, justice, greater good, first, even if it meant him suffering a great deal in the process and eventually dying.

Obi wan is a a poor guy who falls for strong, fiery people like Satine and Cody.

Satine is his first love, his "first marriage". Satine, being strong and dutiful but at the same time a bit more romantic, unlocked emotionally repressed and anxious Obi wan.He never got over her death. He not only loved her, but respected her as a person a great deal. His love for her had the warmth and the passion of youth as well.

Cody, in my scenario, is his "second marriage". It's a long lasting relationship, unlike the first one, that matures with age and time. Cody may not be a sweet talker, flirty or gift giving, but he gives Obi wan exactly what he needs other than love: a loyal partner, who is also brother in arms, stability, practicality, a shoulder to cry on, patience ( keep in mind that Obi wan has been dealing with post traumatic stress disorder since the events on Mustafar ), loyalty ( even when he wrongs Obi wan, he always comes back ).

Obi wan would canonically give up the order for his first love Satine, prefer dying to finding out Anakin turned dark.

His lightsaber, his *life*. The" life" he thought of turning to the dark side when Satine died ( his vision of killing everyone involved in it ), the one which got literally buried along with Anakin's one ( their lightsabers ).

But with Cody, he could live. Cody first knew him as what Obi wan always has been: a Jedi. And he not only not wished him to be something else ( like Anakin often did ) but it was actually possible for them to be life partners ( unlike Satine who died ), exactly as they were.

For Obi wan is always forgiving ( Cody's betrayed him, not wholeheartedly but still ) and Cody is a practical man that can make a guy like Obi wan feel safe, calm and happy.

And Cody never doubts him. Only one day he felt low, when something happened and he got reminded that Obi wans love for Satine and Anakin ( different types of love actually) was unmatched. That night he wondered what it would be like if Obi wan loved him at least close enough. Till Obi wan came back and announced to him something like, he would stay at this said awful place permanently if needed because Cody had duties there.

Cody's heart warmed up enough to never ever question Obi wans love again.

Anakin had A FASHION ICON AND LITERAL QUEEN for a significant other/wife/mother of his kids and the best ( and most handsome ) jedi ever as a master/father/ brother/ best friend and turned to the dark side.

Dude was powerful, talented, respected by many, handsome, rich ( by marriage ), in the Jedi Council, a warrior, mentored by the best the order had to offer, loved by the love of his life, soon to be father. He still turned to the dark side and lost everything.

He is proof that even when you have all of these things, you aren't necessarily happy. You can still have deep unresolved trauma, be immature, unable to control your emotions, possessive, having black and white thinking etc preventing you from experience the happiness you wish to experience.

There couldn't be a better example for this than Anakin Skywalker.

Dude, Anakin really said " you underestimate my power" to Obi wan, who killed a sith once and then, it became his PhD thesis, " Chancellor Palpatine, Sith lords are our speciality" (unaware that he was surrounded by 3 of those at the same time in that room).

Obi wan always underestimates his opponents power and that's because he puts emphasis on the skill over raw power, right over wrong. He, a Jedi with a moderate amount of midichlorians, *has to* underestimate his opponents powers so he can fight them and that's what makes him a great warrior.

He explicitly told Anakin " I will do what I must" not " I will do what I can".

Anakin turns around. He goes back to the ship with Padme and Obi wan. Padme soon gives birth and they raise their children together. Obi wan becomes the godfather. Little Luke loves training with his father while Leia adores hanging around with Obi wan, going on trips to explore and listening to stories about war, the Jedi, the sith etc. Leia and Anakin " fight" all the time as they are both hot headed and Padme is the arbitrator of the family. When Padme or Luke goes away, the other has to keep an eye on the rest of the Skywalker family also known as " walking dangers".

Obi wan spends all of his spare money on the twins, he is like a second father to them. Luke is like " I love you and thank you, but I can't accept it" whereas Leia is like " thanks, old man, let's do it again anytime soon" ( their relationship is more intimate and playful ).

Anakin meets Han Solo and absolutely hates him. He goes ballistic on him every time he joins the family dinner ( invited by Padme who tries her best to be understanding towards Leias choices ). One night Luke tries to talk to Anakin, who in turn admits to him that he would die for his only daughter and all he wants for her is to be with a good man. In time, he sees that Han really loves his daughter and softens ( a bit ).

Every time Leia fights with Anakin, she goes to Obi wan to bitch about him. Obi wan is always like " I know how I can deal with this, I raised your father and you are basically Anakin 2" but he never tells her outright because he knows she'll get mad.

Padme and Luke can communicate with just one glare. They have the best communication as far as the rest of the family members are concerned. Their quiet nature binds them in a beautiful way.

Luke loves Obi wan for his wisdom. When it comes to really important matters, he always asks his opinion. When he was little, he once made a drawing, with the word FAMILY written on top. The drawing included Padme, Anakin, his sister and Obi wan. After showing them the drawing, he told them that when he becomes a man, he will take care of all of them. He was always such a cutie.

Anakin does advanced theoretical calculus when he’s sad. Like straight up sobbing to normal while doing math that could turn someone’s brain inside out because it makes him feel good and happy.

But Obi-Wan???? He’s a little fucking freak he does poetry when sad. What a fucking weird child someone check on his dumbfuck mental health wtf is wrong with him.

[...]

Anakin: Perfect! That explains everything about gravity!

Obi - wan: " and then the demons ate his soul. Now, he could die happy, knowing, for the first time in his life, that he had one".

Anakin: you flip it backwards, of course, that's how you get them black holes!

Obi- wan: "You didn't know at the time how much I loved you. To understand the true meaning of something is to miss it at some point, then, maybe get it back on a sunny day. I've loved you for as long as you can remember yourself.

Therefore to you, my love is eternal and thus, a bit pointless."

Anakin: Dude...

Padme and Anakin remind me of many straight couples who are extremely pathological: the narcissist and the enabler. Always together, in heaven forever. More often than not, they appear to be the traditional stereotype of an ideal couple. They are both young, handsome, smart, promising, loyal to each other, trying to build together their careers, their own family. The enabler ignores red flags, sometimes unconsciously, other times consciously. In a patriarchal society due to sociopolitical reasons, the enabler is more often than not the woman.

Till the day the enabler steps up. Then they meet the narcissist's fury. The one who promised him literally the galaxy minutes ago.

Chaos ensures. The divorce is ugly, catastrophic from all aspects. They both fail to be parents to their children. Padme because of sadness ( sometimes the enabler can't have the consequences leading to self destruction) and Anakin because of his raging obsession for power. It's undoubtedly true that both loved their kids. Padme would want nothing more than to raise her children and Anakin showed us in the movies his love for them. Yes, some narcissists can love their kids, especially the ones that score higher on the bpd spectrum than narcissism. In my opinion, this became clear as he grew older and thus, dropped the intensity of the narcissism magnified by his youth.

Many young people find the couple romantic and beautiful. As a young person myself ( 22), I completely understand the lure. But as a person that has experienced this in my own home, I fail at sympathising with the ship itself.

Obi wan loved them both. He tried to be there for both. He took care of their kids. His own life took the backseat. He was a person who saw taking care of others mistakes as a moral duty towards the great good. He was also attached to them. If not so attached, things wouldn't have gotten so far. But in the end, he raised his sleeves and tried to fix whatever was left to fix. It literally reminds me of Jesus who asked his Father why he should sacrifice himself, then did it because that's what he considered to be right. Obi wan's empathy works like that.

He sent Luke to face his father. To kill * Darth Vader*. Not Anakin Skywalker. Obi wan still believed that there was at least a piece of Anakin left in there. He doubted that for years but after decades of meditation accompanied by the wisdom of an old man, he knew this to be possible. But he could come to light only by his pure innocent love for his son, not from his love tainted with shades of hate and passion for Padme and Obi wan.

And that's why Padme and Anakin grow to love Obi wan with a deep sense of respect that they never had for each other. But it was too late for them. Both understood Obi wans value right before dying, when they saw a man caring for their kids, for themselves as well. But Obi wan forgave.

What Anakin said:

I hate you! I'll kill you! You are all that matters! You mean nothing to me! You are weak! You are very wise! I will destroy you! I am what you made me! It's not your fault! You failed! You taught Luke well! Your strength has returned! You shouldn't have come back! I'll kill you!

What he thought:

"You left me! Don't leave me! You left me! Don't leave me. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll kill you. I'll--!" ( https://www.tumblr.com/gffa/738434933494857728/star-wars-from-a-certain-point-of-view-return?source=share )

What he meant:

" I hate you! I love you! Don't leave me alone! Hate me! You should have loved me more! Die! You shouldn't have come back, you'll die!"

Darth/ Anakin to Obi wan: you are weak

Random person to Darth: he is weak

Darth/ Anakin: what the f did you just say, he is wise and a great duelist, he slew Maul and myself, the force is with him, he took care of my children, he believed in me and that destroyed him, he is sassy, witty and surprisingly unpredictable, you don't know him so shut the f up

Darth/ Anakin to Obi wan: you need a shower too

Anakin/ Darth is the epitome of " I hate you/ I love you". He calls Obi wan wise all the time, then proceeds to call him a failure. He says before their fight that he is what Obi wan made him, yet, in the end, tells him it's not his fault. In my opinion, he acts like a very bitter jilted lover. He never calls him wise in his face, only behind his back. And he doesn't tell him it's not his fault until Obi wan starts crying.

When Palpatine told Anakin to leave unconscious Obi wan behind, Anakin told him that he would have the same fate as them. See, Anakin being immature and very passionate, can't tell himself apart from other people in a healthy way. You are either his enemy or his ally. He'll either die with you or kill you. There's no in between. He'll either rule the galaxy with you or choke you if you deny him ( Padme ). And he knows that he is in pain as much when he hurts the people he loves. More than anything he wants to kill himself. But he'll kill you first because he perceives you as something that's his, an "unfinished business". An egocentric type of love.

He reminds me of the " love me or die" song so much. The narrator/ singer knows that he did something evil ( poisoning and killing his love interest after getting rejected ). He knows that she didn't deserve it, yet, being too far gone like Anakin, believes that there wasn't any other way. In the end, he laments that both of them will go to hell and meet again. In his mind, even tho she is perceived to be the lesser evil, they both sinned and for that, they deserve it.

I believe that's how Anakin perceived his own situation too. He loved Obi wan and he knew Obi wan loved him too ( it's possible that in the song, Matilda loved the narrator but being repulsed by his dirty money and connections, turned him down ).

But in his mind, he wronged him, and Anakin wronged Obi wan too. And for that, they both deserve to die and meet in hell.

It's canon that Anakin felt extremely lonely and empty after killing Obi wan. It's also canon that more than everything he was miserable and hated himself. He was aware of his atrocities. I believe that he thought that he would pay in the afterlife. I believe that he thought Obi wan would be there too, paying for his own sins.

Till Luke came and showed him what true love is like. Non egocentric, more beautiful than ugly, patient, idealistic and forgiving. Darth seeing so many qualities in Luke that reminded him of Padme and Obi wan softened at first his heart a little bit, opening the way for Luke to save him due to his own perseverance in the end.

When Anakin died, he met Obi wan again but not in hell and he accepted that, now knowing how to let go.
