A Mini-Meta Musing (#2)

What a brave and handsome demon, eh? Courageously facing down the forces of Hell, standing tall despite the threat to his very existance. Crowley showed such fearlessness when he was dragged off to his diabolical trial.

Except that's NOT Crowley. The demonic good looks remain (!), but we know that's actually Aziraphale. The angelic Principality. In Hell. About to be sentenced to an unknown fate.

I've been thinking a lot about Aziraphale lately. Tonight, I was thinking about the incredible Courage Aziraphale showed in his willingness to appearance-swap with Crowley. It was also incredible Love.

Agnes Nutter's prophecy only said, "Ye must choose your faces wisely, for soon enouff ye will be playing with fyre." Nothing about Holy Water or rubber ducks. Hell has a very, very long list of things it can do to punish someone, demons included, many of which might "play with fire." Aziraphale went into Hell not knowing what tortures he'd be facing. But he knew one thing for certain...

He was going to protect Crowley, at any cost.

Aziraphale “Ohmygosh Angel Crowley called me over ☺️☺️☺️”

Aziraphale “I remember every single date we have met and I danced for you.”

Aziraphale “I am soft.”

Aziraphale “Can you remove the stain from my jacket because when you do it it’s like it has never been there ☺️”

Aziraphale “Push me against the wall 😙”

Aziraphale “Anything I can do for you?”

Aziraphale “*forever heart eyes*”

Aziraphale “Oh noooo I have been captured, if only my handsome man were to save the damsel in distress with perfectly styled hair and carefully chosen clothes who’s hoping for a date.”

Aziraphale “Did you know Jane Austen Balls are known for having people confess their eternal love for each other *proceeds to create one so he and Crowley can dance together and confess*”

Aziraphale “Will I give one of my most precious possessions away for a chance to dance with Crowley?! *looks at him* Yes, totally, take what you want.”

Aziraphale “Oh my god I feel love” *grabs Crowley*

Aziraphale “Oh my god they’re talking about choosing their own side” *grabs Crowley*

Aziraphale “Our car! Our bookshop!” *sad face when Crowley moves out the second he’s back*

Aziraphale *chokes crying* “No!” When Crowley leaves.

Aziraphale *more heart eyes*

Aziraphale “Which outfit I shall choose for this damsel in distress rescue mission…”

I adore Aziraphale for being like this. He’s such a little princess. He’s in love and he’s not giving up. He will always find a way to be with Crowley. Gosh he adores him. He read his romances with heroines (angels) being taken care of by their handsome partners (demons) and he’s living it.

Feral Friday!

As a minimalist living with non-minimalists I know how Crowley would probably feel moving into a cottage with Aziraphale 😂 Don’t get me wrong, I love books, I just don’t need them all around me to be well read 😆

Have y'all ever noticed how Crowley & Aziraphale's homes are the opposite styles to Heaven & Hell?

Heaven - very white & empty, modern, futuristic

Aziraphale's bookshop - cosy, colourful, stacked with books and trinkets, old things

Hell - stuffed with paperwork and super messy, run down

Crowley's flat - neat, tidy, everything in it's place, minimalistic, modern

poor babies were never going to fit in with their lot

It's Crowley asking for holy water as protection and Aziraphale hearing suicide pill. It's Crowley wanting a way to fight for what they have, even if it means destroying everything around them, while Aziraphale fears Crowley will destroy himself for it. It's them both loving each other so much but being pushed apart by it all the same.

Aziraphale talking for the first time with Crowley when they’re both Angels is soooo “finally got to talk to my crush after I’ve been watching him for ages”.

He’s introducing himself, giggles, smiles, compliments him, already warns him to not get himself in trouble. Already a little jealous when he realises Crowley is only looking at the stars and calling them gorgeous not him.

He was probably flying around hoping one day he’d call him over so they could talk. Angel has been smitten by Crowley since the beginning of time. Crowley is not getting the hint? No problem. Aziraphale is not giving him up now.
