Bellow diamond selkie au Chapter 1!
Chapter 1 letters back home
Yellow had been travelling the world for years now, she'd seen everything, heard all the stories, and this time was unlike any other. The ship she had spent so long on will be stopping soon, the small seaside town she'll be spending some days in is approaching, it doesn't seem like anything special, but she's happy she finally has some time to relax, lie down and touch the ground.
Yellow diamond was her full name, she Barely told anyone it, she hated it. Her name came from her mother, who called herself white diamond, both her and her mother had very rare diamond shaped pupils, yellow never saw them as something special but her mother would always talk about how they represented something special that only they had. Another reason for her name was her almost bright yellow skin, like the eyes yellow believed it was just a medical condition but her mother thought it to be something special, one thing yellow liked about being so far from her mother was that she didn't have to hear all her bizzare superstitious rants everyday.
Yellow looks across the ocean and sighs, the sun is shining down on her, making her blonde hair look almost like its glowing, it's been so hot these couple of days, she could barely take it. She looks out to the small town and takes out a small pen and paper, leans on the side of the boat and starts to write.
Ever since she's started this life style, she'd write a letter to her mother everyday, each letter she sent was in three parts, starting in the morning, then in the mid day and finally in the night, this time it was quite late for her to start her letter, she quickly wrote how her morning was, her handwriting being slightly worse than usual as she started to focus more on the boat stopping, she had finally arrived, and had barely anytime to write.
The boat stopped and yellow jumped off, stretching her arms and legs, she'd barely seen anything besides her ship and the sea for weeks now, she missed land so much. She looked back at her letter, sat down on a nearby bench and wrote some more.
I've finally arrived at a small beach town. The morning was the same as usual, the ship is the same small place it always is and the sun was as unbearably hot as its been these past couple days.
Before i arrived at the small town, I saw many seals nearby the coast, I reminded me of the old stories you'd tell me of selkies, it makes me remember all the times I spent with you, I hope I can see you again soon."
Yellow re-read the letter over and over again, it seems good enough, she stuck it back into her pocket and got off the bench. She started to look around, she noticed a beach nearby, it seemed nice enough, maybe she can sit there and write instead, she takes off her long black coat and holds in in her hand, wiping swear of her forehead with her other hand, she needed to find any sort of shade, this summer she wasn't sure she can handle any longer, thankfully it was getting dark maybe the sun would become less intense.
The small beach was under a long hill, this suprised yellow, it didn't look anything like this from afar, but that didn't matter much to her, at least it had some shade. As yellow slid down the hill she was stopped right in her tracks but a shocking site.
A large white seal jumped out the ocean, it was nearly 3 times yellows size, but that wasn't the most shocking thing about it. As the seal got out the water and shuffled onto the sea, its moved its flippers to the back of its head and pulled, the flippers started to look human and in and instant the seal had turned into a tall hooded woman, wearing a white, glowing coat, pulling down her hood and looking around.
Yellow couldn't help but gasp, she was standing in front of a creature her mother had told her so many stories about, a real selkie! "I...y-you are...", yellow studdered, trembling and stepping back, the selkie turned back to yellow and gave her a horrified look, she pushed yellow away from her with great strength, bashing her against the hill and quickly ran back into the ocean, pulling the hood of her white coat over her head again and turning back into a seal, swimming away at a amazing speed.
Yellow got up and looked around, she couldn't believe what she had just seen, she was shaking all over, those stories her mother had told her throughout her childhood where all real! And she had just scared away a selkie, yellow fell to her knees and looked out to the ocean, frozen in shock, not knowing how to react to what she had just seen.
(I've already planned the first three chapters! I've really enjoyed this! I'll be posting this on ao3 when I get a full name for the fic!)
