one thing ive thought about for some time (when i have the money) is about getting a little pair of fake antlers to wear maybe. i think its kinda weird to me though since i pretty distinctly think i do NOT have antlers? like .. any other potential-to-be-horned animals/etc without horns feel similar? like itd be nice and cute, but i dont know if itd feel right?

if you don’t think you have antlers b/c your kintype is female, some of the confusion may be stemming from the fact that some species of deer do have females with antlers?

maybe it’s just your “oh girl deer don’t have those” rationality kicking in and masking actual affinities or memories.

discipline is a huge thing for me as a dog alterhuman.

i enjoy school activities that expect me to behave by a specific set of rules (eg model united nations). i like being held to a high standard on my mannerisms and formal attire. i love it when i need permission to speak or to get up. i feel like a working dog when i put on my serious face, when i have my arms perfectly placed on my lap and my back perfectly straight, just breaking the pose to rearrange my tie or my badge.

i want everyone in the room to know that i am a fucking machine trained to kill at this one specific activity. they might be good at it, but i am a k9 unit and my only job this moment is to sit still look scary, to speak on command and be as outstanding as possible with my assertive words and timed gestures. and they dont know i love every minute.

I relate to this, albeit through a different lens! I am a working dog (livestock guardian) and I looove being given tasks and guidelines to follow. Above all I enjoy strict routines and having to adhere to schedules to make sure each task I’ve been given is properly and successfully accomplished.

I don’t often have anything to guard but on the occasion when I am instructed to watch over someone’s things I absolutely love it and treat it with the utmost importance. It feels very fulfilling for me when I complete helpful tasks and keep things safe.

boars (and donkeys for that matter- test way above horses in studies, on dolphin level) are wicked smart and know exactly what the command is, what somebody wants them to do. But will they do it?

So you tell me I ‘should’ do something. You insist on it. Will it actually get done? Totally up to my values (or whims.)

Non-binary? Eh, the character doesn’t have to match me exactly, esp if it’s not particularly a sona. A sona sow. Haha.

If I do something, it for sure will not be to please the one telling me to do it, unless I already have developed a certain level of respect and therefore a desire for validation from them. It will be some other motivation if not.

So yeah, go ahead and give me instructions. I’ll take them under advisement.

Rewrite the Stars ~

I wanted to try a lipsync animation, and I happened to be listening to Rewrite the Stars when the inspiration struck! I listen to this song most often when I’m drawing Outertale stuff, and personally, I think James Arthur’s voice suited Grillby better. After listening to this one audio clip on loop, it is very hard to imagine him with any other voice. This is probably the most ambitious animation I’ve made to date, and I kind of regret not doing a practice/study animation of Grillby’s flames before going into this :,) The perfectionist in me came out a lot during the process, but overall, I’m super happy with how this came out! Apologies if the quality of this is kind of grainy, I’m still figuring out the best video programs to use and all that jazz. I can’t wait to dabble with more animation stuff in the future 0v0

I like stories where a normal human child is being raised by a sinister supernatural being who is totally malevolent except when it comes to their kid. Those are so much better than the “kids are scary” changeling type horror movies.

Like a perfectly well-adjusted well-mannered friendly child that is like “This is my dad, Surazal. He comes out of the mirrors in dark rooms. He makes really good blood pudding but he’s bad at playing catch. Most people can’t see his corporal form but I can because he says I have special eyes.”

“Mom says that you can stay over but you have to promise not to leave my room between midnight and 1 am. You can play Mario Cart with me! But you have to knock on every closed door in the house before entering just because dad might be in there and if you look upon his visage without drinking the holy fruit juice, you might go crazy or something. Also dad is really excited I have a new friend and he’s going to to make hardtack and mystery stew for us! You’ll love it!”

In high school the kid gets a friend that is an amateur demonologist who initially befriends them in hopes of exorcizing their house but ends up becoming buddies with Surazal too because they crave parental affection.

Surazal stands at the end of the vast dark hallway and says “You Too Have Special Eyes, Little One. You Can See Me Without Being Taken By The Madness. Within You, I Sense Great Turmoil And Sadness. In My Younger Years, I Would Have Exploited The Sadness As Weakness In Your Very Soul. I Would Have Worn Your Skin Like A Mask And Run Through The Village Streets, Supping Blood From Every Man I Encountered. But Now I Have No Use For Woe. Perhaps You Would Like To Watch Beetlejuice In The Family Room With My Daughter While I Prepare Cupcakes. I Am Sensing You Have A Fondness for Red Velvet.”
