Morning Routine: From 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM 📸🌅

I absolutely love waking up early when everything is still silent. There’s something magical about starting the day before the world wakes up. 🌅✨ Here’s how my morning went:

1️⃣ 5:30 AM: This is my golden time. The quiet of the early morning helps me dive into my studies with incredible focus💫 These two hours were super productive!

2️⃣ 7:30 AM: Took a refreshing break to recharge with some chai tea. It’s amazing how a little pause can reenergize you for more!

3️⃣ 9:00 AM: Breakfast time and a well-deserved break. 🥐✨ After a productive start, it’s nice to step away and enjoy some food.

Now it’s time for me to unwind with some journaling and properly start my morning routine (think shower, skincare...). Until now, I’ve been diving into my studies straight out of bed, still in my pajamas and a bit of a mess 😂 Now I’m excited to get organized and fully embrace the rest of the day!

During the last 2 exam seasons I started to get into a habit of waking up early, whether that was at 5, 5:30 or 6. It was so nice and peacefullll 🌃

I'd generally put my alarm a tiny bit louder and sometimes put vibrate on with it to make sure that I'd wake up and then I'd sit up (temporarily freeze because temperatures here don't tend to be very high) and just blink into space for a few mins.

I'd then put a pillow on my chair, fluffy socks and wrap myself up in a blanket (it was still freezing for about the first 10mins).

Then in go the earbuds with a playlist from youtube (back when adblocker still continuously worked....), turn on my desk lamp and get started with work for an hour, hour ½ at which point I'd get ready for school.

If the study session felt like too much then I'd sometimes also read or watch some videos on yt.

My consistency with this has cut down so much ;-; Nevertheless!

|| Sleep: Didn't get the most sleep and I also slept through my alarm (great start to the school year..)

|| Routine: I got up pretty much immediately after noticing the time (only 10mins past when I should've woken up) and washed my face

|| Deep focus: I finished pretty much all of my math homework and did some research for my art theme (this year the theme is reality)

|| Body: /

|| Mind: For the most part I stayed off social media and did more productive things instead 😊

  • Day 25 clean (got close to it yesterday)

  • Floor time ☑️
Today was our second day of school, first proper one tho, and my brain is already fried 😵‍💫 I did miss it to be fair tho, I like the routine and I do enjoy studying. I've just got to make a few decisions now about exam repeats and possibly dropping a subject..

|| Sleep: 6hrs 30 + 2hrs after my alarm

|| Routine: I washed my face, stretched and had some water

|| Deep focus: /

|| Body: I did 5 pushups

|| Mind: I drew for a good while. I love being able to see progress in my art and style, it's so motivating and makes me so happy for being able to draw!!

  • Day 0 but I am getting better!
  • Floor time ☑️

_, Academic Weapon Challenge Day 17 ˎˊ-

|| Sleep: I only got about 6hrs sleep but after getting up to feed my dogs I didn't go back to sleep

|| Routine: I did snooze my alarm but had some water not long after getting up, washed my face, stretched and read

|| Deep focus: I worked more on the TSJ website (so excited!! It's gonna be published on the 2nd!) so the first article is not written up and I have only 1 thing left to check over.

|| Body: I walked my dogs around a river-forest park with my parents today and Bella (the younger one) was so brave and learnt to like the water!

|| Mind: I spent almost an hour painting. The watercolours are so so nice, and I don't use watercolours a lot in general but it was working out really well! The only thing about them is that they are not acrylics and less is generally more when it comes to them..... I need to remember that for next time....

|| Sleep: Slept in till 9 again

|| Routine: I washed my face, stretched, had a drink of water and I'll read a bit before bed [6/6]

|| Deep focus: I cleaned both my rooms. I was supposed to clean the bathroom also but I'll do that in the morning tm

|| Body: /

|| Mind: Gonna do a bit of reading, is all

E told us today that my school allowed a student back in who has failed. It's so so unfair! They of course dropped the subject they failed but were able to chose a double-award one. That's 4 ALevels instead of 3!! If they failed before how would they not fail now with the extra pressure?? And maybe they are capable, but why give only one student this opportunity?? Plus that student will also have 2 ALevels and 3 AS levels because of it which is not right because everyone should have 3 ALevels (± with a BTEC). It's so stupid.

|| Mind: I spent a few hours sewing and now I have a pet frog! Her name is Crafty Ribbette and I'm so proud of her!! She's so derpy but I was also expecting this to come out a lot worse 🙃

_, Academic Weapon Challenge Day 14 ˎˊ-

|| Sleep: Got out of bed eventually, I did sleep in again but then again I've not been going to sleep at a set time so I probably got to get that sorted before getting myself up at a set time

|| Routine: Nothing once again but I did download an app on which I'll track it on!

|| Deep focus: I worked a lot on the TSJ website today, it's pretty much finished! I'm just editing the format of an article entry which got ruined when copying it in and then I've got 1 more thing to sort really for right now! (The website will be published on the first Monday of September now btw! I'm so excited! I can't belive this is actually happening..)

|| Body: I did 5 pushups today

|| Mind: I guess just getting the routine sorted on the app earlier, it did get me out of a slight rut and gave me some motivation but I didn't do much else at all..

  • Day 15 (I'm figuring some stuff out atm)
  • Day 0 (I'd put that into negative numbers today if I could)
  • Floor time ☑️

_, Academic Weapon Challenge Day 12 ˎˊ-

|| Sleep: .... about 6 hours (I talked with a friend until 2 am 😵‍💫)

|| Routine: I awoke before my alarm but still changed the time it'd ring at but woke up a bit before it did, I had a glass of water and that's it.

|| Deep focus: /

|| Body: /

|| Mind: Wrote out some sudoku puzzles and read once again more of Gone Girl and The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress. I could try and finish then today/early morning tomorrow but it might honestly be better for me to try and get some sleep...

Side note: I watched the Perseids meteor shower for a bit and it was so so beautiful!! I forgot just how amazing that meteor shower is... 🌠🌌🌃

_, Academic Weapon Challenge Day 10 ˎˊ-

|| Sleep: I can't remember how much sleep I got but my pup started barking at 5:55 and wouldn't quit until I let her out... And you bet I went back to bed after that 💤

|| Routine: I let myself sleep in till 9, I stretched and had a cup of water

|| Deep focus: I worked on the Sci Journal website today (I think it will get published by the end of August!) and Google sheets & forms for it too

I've got the best people helping me and who are also really excited about this! I couldn't ask for better support <3 And you've been such amazing help today @nyxscave !

|| Body: I kept quite a good posture for most of the day and did my best to not pick my skin when I realised I was doing it

|| Mind: I made some more physics notes today and for the most part stayed off social media

I was really excited today to watch the Perseids meteor shower 🌠 (I had for the past 2 years) but it was just pouring a minute ago so I don't think that's gonna happen....

In other news:

  • Day 2 clean (also, I am expecting big numbers here for a few months—and hopefully I can achieve that—because it mostly tends to happen around exam time and that's not happening for a while)

_, Academic Weapon Challenge Day 8 ˎˊ-

|| Sleep: Maybe 7hrs 30?

|| Routine: I don't think I did anything

|| Deep focus: I was painting for most of the day. It's a gift for my dad on his birthday and the painting was taking foreverrrrrr

|| Body: I took both of my dogs for a walk and it was exhausting honestly, the younger one pulls on this lead and has no sense of personal space so she'll just push into my other dog. I'll definitely stick to walking them one at a time.

|| Mind: I listened to a good amount of Gone Girl and I'm (finally) nearing the end of the book! I also had a great and very helpful talk with J about some things that have been going on recently in my life.

_, Academic Weapon Challenge Day 9 ˎˊ-

I had an absolutely amazing day today!!

|| Sleep: Just over 6 hours of sleep (I talked with J till a bit after midnight, couldn't fall asleep and had to get up early to feed my dogs)

|| Routine: So after feeding my dogs I went back to bed for like 30mins (I was sooo tired 😮‍💨) but when that alarm went off I didn't snooze it, did 5 pushups and had a sip of water!

|| Deep focus: Just painting again (I finished the gift today!)

|| Body: I did 5 pushups before my bath and walked one of my dogs but when I was hanging out with K, A and J we walked around a good bit also (I love and cherish them so so much <33333)

^ Yes it was me that tied grass around A's shoelaces 😊

|| Mind: I listened to more of Gone Girl and read some of The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress

I also drove up to meet my friends and then back and I'm so much more comfortable driving by myself now and on the roads in general! (although they are familiar roads that I'm driving) and I'm getting better with parking!

I'll also start some new counters:

  • Day 1 clean (I sh and I've not done it for a few days and I don't do it often at all, and I wasn't planning on stopping but today I decided that I will :) )
  • Day 0 (I pick at my skin and nails a lot and I really want to stop, and I'm getting a lot better with it! but I haven't went a day where I haven't picked at my skin in some way for so so long)
  • Floor time ☑️ (a friend today mentioned that he likes to lie on the floor, another said that they do it too and I'd like to do it a lot more often. I feel like it might help a lot; in de-stressing, calming myself, resting in a better and healthier way, and helping to stop bad habits. So even if I'm feeling fine I'dstill like to lie down on the floor at some point each day) // 🍊

_, Academic Weapon Challenge Day 5 ˎˊ-

|| Sleep: Got 7/just over 7 hours of sleep. Took me a good while to fall asleep.

|| Routine: Once again I was prepared to get up right after the alarm rang but I still managed to sleep in for an hour and only get out of bed at 10. I did do 5 pushups though and had a sip of water not long after.

|| Deep focus: I made a few more physics notes.

|| Body: 5 pushups in the morning and I walked one of my dogs for 33mins.

|| Mind: Watched an online essay and breakdown of 'When the Wind Blows' ☢️ on youtube (it's so tragic... I highly reccomend) and I started a colour study on a random page.

I normally wouldn't put these under the 'mind' section but I gave the videos and the drawing my attention rather than also scrolling on my phone (whuch I stopped a few mins into of the video) and these activities also just calmed me.

This is it so far, and the star is quite deformed 😵‍💫 but I think it's looking pretty good. I'm looking to do more studies like this to fill the rest of the page with. // 🍊

_, Academic Weapon Challenge Day 4 ˎˊ-

|| Sleep: Good sleep. 7+ hours

|| Routine: I'm making miniscule progress. woke up maybe it was around 8? 7:40 maybe? But I turned my alarm off and sat up but then I just laid back down and kept moving my alarm for another hour

I also renamed my alarm to be 'Routine: ☀️💧💪🏻📖' so that should keep me reminded of my goals for each morning (to get up immediately, drink some water, exercise, and read)

|| Deep focus: I made more notes for physics 🖊, got 2 chapters done today

|| Body: I walked one of my dogs and it stated to rain half way through so we ran most of the way home (still got absolutely soaked tho! It was very fun however to run in the rain like that) and later I did 15 pushups and some pushup-planks (I don't know if what I did is actually a thing or not, probably not 🤷‍♀️)

|| Mind: I'll put down the writing notes for this too as I did do it to keep myself and my mind busy as I was feeling quite low beforehand.

Also post apocalyptic guitar does wonders for focus and keeping your thoughts down. This is the second 2hr playlist I listened to from the same channel and I absolutely love them. // 🍊

_, Academic Weapon Challenge Day 1 ˎˊ-

|| Sleep: Had my alarm set for 8, woke up just before that (somehow) but I had a nightmare and awoke somewhat stressed because of it so I let myself sleep in. I should have done it though without extending my alarm every 20 or so minutes until 1 ½ hrs passed..

|| Routine: Nothing yet, I'll plan this out better tomorrow but I'm thinking of having something for the morning like:

  1. don't move alarm — get up immediately
  2. do an exercise
  3. drink a glass of water
  4. read for a bit

|| Deep focus: (I need to do a lot better on this one..) I studied Russian for about 16 mins today (colours)

|| Body: I walked my dog for about 15 mins I belive it was? I need to find a good path to walk or even an area to run around with my dogs on but I've just been so anxious of getting out of the house since moving, nevermind the fact that the path I'm probably gonna find will take me past a few neighbourhoods (there's just something about walking closely past houses, especially ones not in my neighbourhood, that gives me so much anxiety). I also hope I'll be able to go back to doing pushups soon, I haven't been able to for a while because my wrist has been hurting so much..

|| Mind: I read a bit of The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein. I've gotta finish it soon as well as Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn as I've been reading them since the start of July and barely read half of each.

Note: I'm really excited for this challenge! I think it'll be great for me and I'm hoping it will get me out of this depressive slump quickly! Also, for my 'mind' section, I'll note down any books I read (fiction, non-fiction or academic) as well as any mind exercises I do, such as sudoku puzzles, word games etc.
