Hey I'm Myra ^^ // 17 // ALevels: chemsitry*math*art // Artist, reader & probably something else

This may be a strange request, and I'm not sure if any of you would even go for it, but I thought that I might as well ask.

In my Art ALevel I've got to use first hand images (can't use pinterest 😭), and soon I'll begin to start making my final piece.

The idea that just struck me (if my attempt with clay next week will work out well) is to make a portraiture sculpture that mixes in ideas like below:

So would anyone like to be my reference?

I would need pictures of profiles shoulder up (front, both sides, back, maybe top too?) in a similar pose to those in the images ^, let me know if you wouldn't mind doing smt like this :) I would of course not be sharing the pictures online and the only people that would see them is probably just my art teachers (as I'll need the references printed).

Or if you have any images of butterflies, flowers, plants or birds I'd also really appreciate it, whether sent through dm, an ask or @ in a post 😊

I told my teacher I was dropping physics this morning... He was so nice about it... He saw my point, validated it by saying that it seems like the right thing to do, and was saying how he loved me in the class and I kind of grew to be a part of the form class too (some of the students in physics were his form class and I was often there with 2 friends who are also in his form class)...

And I know some people and my friends who were/are in the class with me complained about him and his teaching but I did really like him and found his teaching to be alright...

I'll miss it so much, him and the subject and the people there and I already miss it so so much..

Something came up tonight which means that it'll be easier for me to get into my university course (grade criteria are lower) and I'm trying not to over think my decision about physics, because I could do it, I could keep it on and get the grades, especially now, but I keep trying to bring the thoughts that it'll be easier for me. I struggled through my GCSE and last year's exams, I don't have to repeat both of the physics papers, I won't have as much to stress and worry about. I can focus on my math repeat. All this is a good thing. The right choice.

But I'll still miss the class so much </3

༻`` 🦎 Sunday — 8 Sept 24

Yesterday I went to the opticians and I knew that my eyesight was much worse because from May my screentime skyrocketed (one of the days/weeks, can't remember what it shows, my average screentime was 8 hours!) but I still didn't expect for my prescription to have almost doubled! I love looking out at the world and it does pain me whenever I can't read something an arm's length away from me but after trying like 100 glasses I finally found ones that I really love which also suit me and I'm really happy about that!! One of the reasons why I don't wear my current glasses often is because I don't like the way they look on me, despite a few friends having said that they look cute on me.

I made my ALevel decision and it's that I'm going to drop physics. It was a hard decision, and I'm so thankful for E for talking through it with me, but I know that it'll make this year much easier for me and give me time to focus on other things more (the first one being actually doing things and not procrastinating by doom-scrolling all day).

I'll miss the class, the teacher, the subject, the people, sitting beside and whispering to or making jokes with A there, but we'll still see each other in math and during study periods.

I'll be talking to the teachers tomorrow about dropping the subject.

So much..

First of all:

  • No update yesterday because I had a horrible (if that begins to explain it) headache that started the evening before, and neither paracetamol did anything to help so I went to sleep at 9 and did barely anything, plus it came back today and luckily the ibuprofen worked like a charm

I will also get back to all the asks and @ 's I've been getting soon!

Habit & productivity wise:

  • I need to restart the 30nym and sentinels awc challenges. I've been so inconsistent and been trying to do too much which has resulted in me doing nothing/practically nothing
  • I need to figure out my goals for this year

Which bring me onto the last point.. :

  • I've texted a few friends right now about an ALevel choice I've got to make because I don't know what to do (objectively, there is a clear choice but I don't know..). I get attached to people and feelings and I make up things which makes this much harder for me (decision wise and just stress/pressure wise)

***

So 2 of my friends replied, 1 did most of it and it really really helped. I'm still upset about the decision but I understand that it will all be for the better and it will be easier on me this way so I'll stick to it. I will now just have to contact the school and teachers about it and still take a look at my exam results and grade boundaries (i need to know something and I hope it will align with the decision I'm making)

I'm so so lucky to be such good friends with E 💕

My consistency with this has cut down so much ;-; Nevertheless!

_, Academic Weapon Challenge Day 19 ˎˊ-

|| Sleep: Didn't get the most sleep and I also slept through my alarm (great start to the school year..)

|| Routine: I got up pretty much immediately after noticing the time (only 10mins past when I should've woken up) and washed my face

|| Deep focus: I finished pretty much all of my math homework and did some research for my art theme (this year the theme is reality)

|| Body: /

|| Mind: For the most part I stayed off social media and did more productive things instead 😊

  • Day 25 clean (got close to it yesterday)
  • Day 0
  • Floor time ☑️
Today was our second day of school, first proper one tho, and my brain is already fried 😵‍💫 I did miss it to be fair tho, I like the routine and I do enjoy studying. I've just got to make a few decisions now about exam repeats and possibly dropping a subject..

*some panic is slowly creeping into me.......*

My A Level results (AS) come out tomorrow and I'm kind of nervous at the thought of it. I prayed to God that I'll get good grades, that I'll get the grades I need for uni (a final 3A's) and to somehow tell me that I will, that I don't need to worry. So I'm trying to do that. I'm trusting God on this one (especially that since my prayer, if anybody asked about the coming exam results they made comments like 'you'll be fine' 'you've done well' 'you've got nothing to worry about' so I'm seeing that as God's sign that I have gotten high grades.)

everyone that wished me luck and said that it'll turn out fine.... thank you guyssssss 💕🥹🥹

So I ended up getting AABC, A in art, A in chemsitry, B in math and C in physics. These are not final, I still have next year to being them up which is good, and I'll also repeat 3 of the exams in which I got a C, C and D.

I was definitely hoping for all A's (the chemistry course I'm looking to get into has an entry requirement of AAA and art doesn't really count towards it...) but I did get an A in chemsitry! That's the main thing atleast, and considering how some of my friends did, my results were really good :)

I will try much harder this year 💪🏻

It's almost midnight so I'm gonna start writing this update 😅

༻`` 16 + 17 — Thursday & Friday 42 + 43/60

Today:

🧡 academia >> I only studied chemsitry for 11 mins today which I'm not happy about and I only started writing my evaluation for art 2 hours ago instead of this morning BUT I'm doing it now and aim enjoying the process, plus Im almost finished too.
🧡 physical health >> I did 20 pushups and enjoyed my walk to and from the bus stops
🧡 self care >> Whenever I remember I get up, stretch, drink some water, out down my phone for a bit, play with my dogs more

☀️ 8 something, I really needed the extra sleep🌙 soon hopefully

Yesterday I studied math for 2hrs 16 and I was so tired during it (mentally tired rather than sleepy). I felt like no information was really going into my head and then I stopped doing past papers and started answering questions from my textbook but I struggled so much with simply adding and collecting like terms that I got myself really worried by the end of it. The exam itself went well tho! aim happy with the paper even tho the last few questions were weird. I had 30 mins to spare and filled some pages with as mnay numbers and working out as I could in the hope for more method marks.

Every 45 seconds, a child contacts Childline for support.

At the NSPCC, each benevolent individual is dedicated to protecting children against abuse and violence, creating a safer community for everyone in the future. As a charity, envisioning the future as a time where child abuse reaches an all-time-zero is our main goal!

My school is hosting a charity event where a group of students will go skydiving in the name of raising money for the NSPCC.

Your donation, no matter the amount, will make a significant contribution to the future of the charity and the next generation. We are all immensely grateful for any amount that you can give!

If you are unable to donate, a reblog would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much all of you! 🩷

100 days of productivity 29/100

Found out from a friend that if I want to do biology then I'd probably have to do it at SRC so I've sent a query about it and hopefully it's something I can do and that doing it will be beneficial. I'll be sad to see art go tho 😔 (I know I can handle a lot but 5 ALevels would be pushing it...). Did a lot of homework today and gave a teacher my work xp form. Watched a couple more self improvement 🧠 videos and cleaned my retainers (those cleaning crystals could really do more ;-; ). Also I worked up the courage to ask my art teacher so miss class because I have my piece at home and I'm finished everything else. It will be refreshing to finish it early 🌱.

30 day new year momentum challenge 1/30

What are your main goals for this challenge:

To learn more about my study habits and ways in which I can improve them (also getting inspiration from others' posts). I would like to study more efficiently and study more in general also.

100 days of productivity 22/100

Studied maths for 40 mins in school, finish math homework a week early, bonded with my friends, and although it was windy and it started to rain because of the storm, the walk home was quite pleasant. Still kind of wish I took my dogs out for a walk too tho.

I spent my evening painting my final piece rather than revising more and I'm super happy with how it's turning out! I finally got the face down and I think I'll go back over some of the darker areas at the end to bring even more contrast.

Still haven't heard back from the university.

༻`` 17 Jan 24 — Wednesday

100 days of productivity 17/100

how are we halfway through January already??

I started making some notes, studied chemisty for an hour and tried blurting. I only covered 2 topics so far but it seems like an upgraded version of the way I studied last year for my gcses, which worked out really well seeing as I got a couple A*'s. I'm going to continue this tomorrow.

I was going to push myself to complete 2 hours of study but I've got work experience tomorrow (dentistry even tho u need bio for it and I don't take bio TvT) and I'd like to be well rested for it.

Plus for my study technique, in case anybody is interested and would like to try it, I combine active recall, blurting and teaching the topic.

  1. I will read my notes out loud (about a sentence/small paragraph at a time), look away and repeat a couple times until I no longer have to look at my notes
  2. I will read the next bit, recall it aloud, and often I'll then go over both the 1st bit of notes and the 2nd, 3rd etc. again, trying not to look at the notes
  3. While recalling the information I will tell/teach it to my study buddy (can be a person, animal or inanimate object)
  4. After each major topic I'll write down everything I remember (saying it aloud first then writing it down), go back to my notes and add anything I missed in red so I can focus on it more next time
  5. Before starting a new topic I'll quickly recall aloud the information from the previous topic & etc.
