Anyways the moment that the Artemis mission lands on the moon I am going to be so annoying about how we can afford to spend billions for a space vanity project but can't afford to keep the rails that move millions annually in good repair
Amtrak, I love you, but that is probably not going to be a very good take because at least Artemis is advancing the betterment of scientific understanding. You can throw a fit when they launch USS Enterprise (CVN-80). That thing will have cost the US government considerably more than a moon mission and, as a bonus, it's probably happening sooner, too.
I wish they would gut the budget of something to pay for the trains. I really do. I just think directing your anger towards NASA (which is a comparatively minor money-sink) instead of the US military is probably not a productive use of time or energy.
You should probably be annoying about how we can afford a class of ten super aircraft carriers that each cost billions of dollars but can't afford to keep the rails that move millions annually in good repair.
I think, in comparison to that utter waste of money, Artemis isn't that bad.
Fair point, time to hate the military some more

Holy shit, they got Voyager 1 working again!
15 billion miles away and NASA was able to tweak code packages on one of the onboard computers and it worked and Voyager 1 is sending signals back to earth for the first time since November.
Incredible!
This is an image of Venus taken in 1974 by NASA’s Mariner 10 space probe. The planet is blanketed by a thick veil of clouds high in carbon dioxide.
NASA advertising "do you want to be an astronaut" to tumblr users surely means something. What have you found out there, NASA? What have you found that you believe tumblr users, specifically, are best equipped to handle?
NASA looking to get rid of Tumblr by launching its user base into space.
If NASA faked the moon landings in 1969 then they could do no worse in finding people to fake future expeditions than a group who made up a believable 1973 mafia movie.
“I would like to humanize the space age by giving a perspective from a non-astronaut, because I think the students will look at that and say, ‘This is an ordinary person. This ordinary person is contributing to history.’”

BUZZ ALDRIN: They say in space no one can hear you scream, but it's not true and the other astronauts get mad at you for the rest of the trip

Happy Labor Day. Today I learned about probably the first strike to happen IN SPACE.
“We would never work 16 hours a day for 84 straight days on the ground, and we should not be expected to do it here in space.“
The Apollo 11 Command Module, Columbia, is hoisted aboard the USS Hornet by the recovery team. Operations were conducted about 800 miles southwest of Hawaii on July 25, 1969. The astronauts were already in quarantine by this point.
