SONG OF THE DAY

Song: Pocket Calculator

Artist: Kraftwerk

Songwriters: Karl Bartos, Emil Schult & Ralf Hütter

Release date: May 10, 1981

This futuristic techno/dance track focuses on the very high technology of the pocket calculator. I had a small Casio keyboard that also had a calculator around the same time and let me tell you holding something in your hands that could play "a little melody" was the epitome of cool. I remember first hearing this song at a retro-night at the Man Ray dance club in Cambridge in the 1990s and coincidentally they've just announce that Man Ray is reopening!
