So, ngl, I expected the 4B movement to pop up as a result of the 2024 elections, but I wonder if that’s enough to support the safety of women in the US. No doubt men will get violent and loud, so, clearly, emergency measures need to be taken.
Additionally, I think schools just got a lot more dangerous for young girls. I read some comments on TikTok from mothers saying that their daughters had come home upset from boys in schools yelling “your body, MY choice” (which is just horrifying because it’s essentially a promise of rape and violence) and THEN you tell them they need to go be confined with these little sociopaths day in and day out, all year. Yikes.
I mean, is homeschooling not an option for girls and lgbt children in the US? I know Jon Oliver did a whole thing on homeschooling a while back (but this was mostly for the creationists and religious extremists, it seemed), but given the state of affairs, I wonder if this might not be an option to reinforce the safety of young girls and lgbt children. Obviously, there are a few logistical issues: parents that work/aren’t home, costs of textbooks and materials, etc. but I just look at a couple of things I’ve seen on the media in the past few years and wonder if they wouldn’t line up; like…
- wasn’t there a trend a couple of years back of teachers talking about how they quit bc they were fed up with the system and the students? In a private setting, with less students and more pay, teachers might be persuaded to go back to teaching.
- if you implement an online learning model, kids could potentially go to spaces like public libraries to attend class (accompanied by a volunteer adult), which might support public libraries and their funding.
- alternatively, parents could coordinate to host study sessions in different houses for small groups of neighborhood children, controlling the exposure to risk in public.
I dunno, I’m spitballing. My point is, this could be a good time to consider taking a more active role in the safety and education of young people (mainly women and lgbt). If anything, it might be a great time for writers and academics to help create alternative literature and educational materials that would counteract the hyper Christian rhetoric that’s about to get mandated in the US.

If I have to spend more than 15 minutes applying to your job, why am I going to apply to your job? You sure as hell aren't going to spend 15 minutes reviewing first-round candidates.
Less freaking out than I was expecting. Good for you, guys. Prioritize mental health.
So, does anyone else’s mom have a favorite high school ex of yours that she insists 20 years later is your soul mate and she will NOT let that shit go? Just me? Awesome.

Hey, anyone with a tarot deck wanna do me a solid?
Just ask the cards if that person I think is talking shit about me behind my back is, in fact, talking shit about me behind my back.
Thanks. Appreciate you.
Ohhh yeah, this thing. LOL, so turns out, this person was under the impression that I’m rich (lmao what) and therefore undeserving of anything good in life… which like, okay? and secondly, get your facts straight, bitch.
You know what? I’ve holding it together pretty okay for a year and a half of mostly absolute bullshit. I think I’ve earned a little grace as I start to fray at the seams.
