I recently had a dream and in said dream there was a small bat that could change form that became a sort of side kick/protector for me. We were really close and even when I woke up and I realized it was a a dream I felt kind of hurt, because we had such a bond. I was just wondering what people thought of this? Could it be a spirit guide? Or a dream protector? Idk but I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I’d say that was absolutely a familiar of some sort. More than likely, it was sent by a deity to guide or protect you, or potentially to remind you/let you know that the deity’s influence is in your life.
Bats have been associated with both good and evil depending on the culture; many believe that they’re the spirits of the dead, while the Ancient Greeks and Romans believed that bats could help ward off sleep.
I’d definitely do some research into potential patrons!
