Agatha's hidden song?
Another cool little detail. Might be my new favourite song. [Now edited with second line updated]
In episode 2, when Teen talks about himself and Agatha suddenly can't hear him, she tries turning up the radio - and a song about a road plays. Obviously, it's another nod to the Witches Road, but I would like to think maybe it's another hidden message.
Like some others, this song has been written specifically for this show, so I would like to think the lyrics have some deeper meaning to Agatha, especially that Teen doesn't seem to hear the volume going up. Almost as if it's the sigil spell playing it in her head.
It's quite a haunting song and it feels like it talks about Agatha's feelings about her past - maybe even some kind of letter to Rio? (there even is a river reference)
Have a listen and judge for yourselves. (I couldn't find official lyrics anywhere, so I transcribed them as well as I could. If you think I got some words wrong, please let me know!)
There's a Road - Kinney
There's a road in some old town I remember but haven't found. I can hear the distant sounds Of that old river where I lay down.
Cross my heart and count to ten Drawing circles round the past that never ends Lines of wrekage on my face From the memories that never fade away
If I could breathe a deeper sigh I'd tell the stories of how I cried There's a child that's on their knees And begs forgiveness from those she's seen
Like a ghost you disappear Keep me questioning what part of it was real A silent echo through my veins From the memories that never fade away
help she took the "like a ghost you disappear" too literally 😭😭😭
