so. it turns out that if you choose to drink from the well of sorrows, it will tell you what many of the ‘untranslatable elven writing’ codex entries you pick up are about. i’m sure this is available via other means if you chose not to, but i’m curious if they’re any different … these are great either way. love the insight into andruil as a god of horrific pain and sacrifice — also the implication about transforming into a dragon (my assumption, anyway) being reserved for ‘the gods and their chosen.’  not to mention the last one, regarding abelas and mythal’s murder. COOL.

I noticed this when I drank!  Though I didn’t collect all of them.  Maaaan this is so good, so many hints… GRAH!

literally where did people get the idea that bioware shat upon the lore surrounding dalish bc a few clans toss out extra mages

there’s dialogue with your inquisitor that outright says ‘my clan didn’t do this we gave our mages to other clans who needed them’ bc SURPRISE clans/tribes of a single culture aren’t a hive mind who work as one cohesive unit even in fantasy land

The Dalish literally have a shit load of diversity between clans. Zevran says that the Dalish in Antiva are nothing more than common thugs, some clans are more peaceful like Merrill’s, or some are well treated and respected.

Dalish is just a term for Elves that live away from humans (most the time) and practice ancient traditions. Like that is literally the only thing that are similar among Dalish.

City elves wearing leather under their clothing, hoping it’d at least halt a dagger’s edge when unsuspecting.

City elf weapons smuggled into the alienage with the help of the blacksmith’s elven assistant.

City elves forming an invisible watch; some sit on the roofs, others amble between alleyways. Vigilant; waiting for danger.

City elves doing the best to protect themselves (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

I’m really invested in the idea of elves having twitchy ears that reflect their emotions. I’m also invested in the idea of elves having a hard time reading humans because their ears don’t move—and really, that’s like talking to someone who never moves their eyebrows for them.

I’m going to throw this out into the fandom because I haven’t seen it floating around yet and I thought you all would find it interesting considering the crack theories that have been floating around.

This right here is a shot at the Temple of Sacred Ashes when you’re fighting Corypheus at the final stage. That circular spot is where he stands begging Dumat for power. That’s Mythal’s mosaic.

Heres a picture of that for comparison.
