That... was possibly the most intense nightmare sequence I have ever seen.

The way it started out innocent, sweet, making us think it was just a memory, or a scene being shown from Shadow's past.

The way the fight between Shadow and Gemerl ensued, only to quite literally shatter as Shadow punched him and found himself instead punching glass and winding up somewhere else entirely.

How he was putting the events together in such a way that made us realize - this is a nightmare. This is just one of many times he's relived that day. 😭

The haunting atmosphere of him landing in the prison cell where Gerald sat silently, eyes aglow as the lamp above him swung back and forth so eerily.

...only to glitch away from him again and again when he tried to warn the professor that they needed to leave.

The way he was floating in the red space, looking oh so small and scared with how far away the perspective is.

And those cruel flashes of Maria, terrified and calling for him. 😭

"Shadow! Remember!"

and he wakes up in such a violent panic that he immediately summons a Chaos emerald and blasts the nearest tree to bits.

I just... this felt like a deeper dive into his trauma, his PTSD, that hasn't been shown enough before. He did mention that it "wasn't an ordinary nightmare," but still. That was... that was insane.

Not to mention all the flashes and glitches, that would catch him so off guard during the nightmare, uggghhhh. Someone get this boy to therapy. 😭😭🖤❤️

All he has to do is get through one simple check-up. Should be easy, right? But for Shadow, exam rooms and doctors are a traumatic reminder of the experimentation done to him aboard the ARK. Experimentation done without even asking him. And when that trauma starts to rear its head in the middle of his exam, Shadow starts to lose his voice. Figuratively and literally.

She'd lied to him.

"You said we were going to a briefing." Shadow glared around the medical bay. This was not a briefing room. Which meant that Rouge had once again tricked him into something.

The white bat shrugged carelessly. "Well, G.U.N. does need to do an annual medical examination on every agent. I figured, since we're already here--"

"Don't lie to me," he spat. "There is no briefing. You just tricked me so I'd come."

Rouge sighed, her face visibly shifting out of "con mode". She gave him a serious look. "Shadow, this examination is important."

Omega, who was standing just outside the door because he was too wide to get through, beeped in affirmation. "YOU ARE EXTREMELY OVERDUE."

Rouge frowned. "And every time I bring it up, you ignore it."

"So?"

"So we're here and it's happening now."

Shadow refused to look at them. He glanced back at the examining room, its sterile whiteness and stainless steel reminiscent of the labs on the ARK. An uncomfortable itch ran along his neck.

He turned back to Rouge, stepping towards the door. "No."

Soo, how about that first episode of Sonic Prime S2, eh, guys? How we feeling?

Quick analysis. Sonic has trauma from this whole ordeal, guys. He was showing clear signs of PTSD this ep. Maybe it was obvious, but I'm gonna rant a lil about it, anyway.

It started when Shadow clarified to him, sharply, that their old reality no longer existed. You could hear in his voice that he was on the verge of tears. And just LOOK at him. 😭

And when Shadow took him to the ghost version of Green Hill? When he was talking to who he thought were his friends, only to slowly realize they were nothing more than ghosts of his real friends as they repeated their phrases over and over again? His expression, the way he shook his head ever so slightly, the way he backed up, had to sit down, was actually SHAKING?

Shadow brought him to the cave in the mountain, where the INCIDENT happened. One symptom of PTSD is avoidance of places or people that remind one of a traumatic event. Sonic's face when he realizes where he is?

His ears go up in alarm and his eyes go wide. And then he just stands there, frozen. Shadow has to say his name to get him to start moving. And even when he does?

The way he has one arm up, that's a very defensive stance, often a signal of fear. And he walks, so slowly, like in a trance, into the cave. He stares at the ghostly remains of the Paradox Prism, starts getting flashbacks all over again, all with this look of dazed terror in his eyes.

It hurt my heart to see. 🥺😭
