Something about the new trailer of Shadow Generations has really given a harsh reminder (albeit also a cool one) about the reality of who and what Shadow the Hedgehog is. How he was made. What he's literally, physically made of. What kind of freakish powers lay deep within him because of how he was created. And it's. Freaking. AWESOME!!!

First off, OOF. Watching Black Doom seemingly trigger Shadow's *cough* special abilities, was terrifying. It looks horribly painful for Shadow. He was mostly clutching his head but grabbed at his chest/stomach as well at one point. Makes me wonder if he even knew about these kinds of powers he literally had inside him. 😬🔥 Also, did y'all see the words "colony Ark" appear across the screen briefly?! It's in the first screenshot I have there!! 💥💥

I'm about as normal about Shadow with wings as I was back when we first found out - that is to say I'm not normal about it in the slightest. I'VE BEEN WAITING SO LONG TO BE ABLE TO REDRAW IT!!!! I finished my comic with Night! It's tearing my heart out honestly.
Quick context: Basically Night gets kidnapped by a villain who is curious about Shadow's alien DNA. She experiments on Night and infuses him with energy or whatever, causing him to grow wings like Shadow's Black Arms form. Shadow and Whisper show up before she can do anything else. Shadow leaves Whisper to beat up the villain while he goes to find Night because he can search the facility faster.

Shadow and Whisper take him home obviously, it takes a couple days before the wings shrink down into his back again. Once Night's older, he's able to control his Black Arms form fully and can use it in an extreme emergency.

Kinda thought the black liquid from the game fest trailer was his blood splatters whenever his release his wings.
I just rewatched that trailer and you're right, that does look very blood like. Shadow having black blood would be so cool and creepy!
Either way, I just love the angst potential of the wings graphically ripping out of his back. I'm not into gore whatsoever, but there should definitely be some sort of blood with that violent of a transformation!
