Wait, I get it. There is no Takasugi in the BFY movie because he has decided to live in the past and only haunt the current world. There is no place for him in the future, especially one without Gintoki or Shouyou-

really who could do it like them.
what always gets me most of takazura convo in the benizakura arc is that zura genuinely wants to make takasugi see through reason and takasugi asks zura what is in the world that lets him cope with what happened to shoyo and them and i do believe he's genuine about wanting to know zura's answer but the key part here is how zura answers to this. because he brings up gintoki and how gintoki is enduring the pain and obviously zura is saying it because to him seeing that if gintoki is able to find things that are worthy then he also can do the same. but the problem with this logic for takasugi is that we later get revealed that takasugi's endless seek for revenge and wanting to destroy everything is not only for what happened shoyo but also for what gintoki had to go through so to heard that gintoki is enduring the pain would not help to see takasugi reason at all. it does the complete opposite effect really. he hates the fact that gintoki has to bear that. but obviously zura doesnt know this either
Happy Birthday Sensei! [4th. August]
lucky to have met you
i’d tell myself that i was helping you grow, but i placed a terrible burden on you;
i’d tell myself that i was a good teacher, or maybe even a good parent, but really, i could never call myself a good person
(i was never a person to begin with. monster. demon. villain.)
i thought i was trying to free myself and be whole but -
what i really wanted in the end wasn’t freedom or plenitude
(it was a right to be by your side)
(i’m sorry.)
