I saw a joke on Tumblr about Gromph thinking it's terrible for a kid to become a ranger. It fits the meme so well. :D I don't know why Jarlaxle is the one sitting on the couch with the kids. Maybe he's playing along with Gromph. I think Gromph could start his own wizard academy. But the kids there are not to be envied.

“Not so much so,” Kimmuriel corrected, which surprised Gromph and Jarlaxle, who, after all, had only been joking. “In both cases, the sickness is contracted through an overblown sense of pride, the deadliest of faults.”
“Then Gromph should be dead,” Jarlaxle said.
“Then Jarlaxle should be dead,” Gromph said at the same time.
Kimmuriel just paused and tightened his face in disapproval. The brothers looked at each other and scoffed—mirror images, they seemed.
kimmuriel gets slowly more and more tired the more he appears in these books and i honestly cannot blame him in the slightest
Ok, but also, can we appreciate the beautiful sibling bond between Gromph and Jarlaxle... the synchronized jab at each other? I love them so much. I need more of them.

Male drows getting death penalty for hitting on a female drow is insane
So imagine you are a male drow who is new to the surface world... possibly several hundred years old... all you have known is this... and you have no idea what you are supposed to do to court a woman... because literally your whole life, the punishment for pursuing a woman is possibly death... and also the same goes for rejecting a woman...
All I am saying is that there has to be some of the most akward, embarrassing, humiliating, strange interactions between drow men and human women in Luskan as more and more of Bregen D'aerthe's male drow try to figure it out.
I mean, Jarlaxle is a special cookie with exceptional social skills and the ability to read situations and adjust... and according to the One-Eyed Jax audiobook, Beniago seems to have figured it out (excuse me, courting more than a few human women? And they don't seem to care that he is drow?)... but I want to be a fly on the wall for all the other terribly akward interactions.
I mean, look at Gromph's first miserably failed attempt at flirting. He fucked up so badly and didn't even know he was fucking up until the end. I see a lot of people uncomfortable with his interaction with Cattie-Brie, but if you understand where he has spent eight centuries surviving, I feel like you gotta cut him some slack.
Anyway, I am here for the pathetic cringe-fail attempts. It's hot.
