Any advice on handling commissions?
i haven't been able to open for commissions a lot but i did learn some things from when i got some: Both the artist and the commissioner have to work on it together (wips and feedback), sounds obvious but i've seen many artists whose commissioners just disappear after the payment is made and the artist doesn't know if it's good enough and so on (same with artists sometimes) and both inputs are key parts to finish the work Your ToS should clear out any loopholes and make sure they actually read it even if the ToS itself says you don't draw x stuff or don't do refunds after a specific stage of the comm, that applies too Give a time estimate of when the commissioner can expect to receive the full work i'm guilty of this so i'll say from experience, please make sure you can actually work on comms before accepting many or you won't meet deadlines (in case there is with any specific comm) Don't set your prices too low art is valuable and you should give yourself credit for it, its worth money so increase or lower the pricing as you see fit (Optional) Offer discounts for people who actually read the ToS works as a little reward in case they actually read it and are fully committed to following your terms, they get a certain % off and they will have to give feedback and/or do any of what your ToS says, that includes refund terms too some stuff are self-explanatory, i'm prolly 🤓ing out but i hope this helps regardless
