as cool as it is to finally have a canonical gallifreyan generator, i wish more care had been put into the whole thing 💀💀

the entire translator rips off the rules of sherman's gallifreyan (the fanmade gallifreyan systemnthat's existed for YEARS) except the vowels are different. even just a guide to create our own gallifreyan would be more interesting than the generator we got, which might make 'accurate' gallifreyan, but it's ugly ❤️

sherman's gallifreyan guide tells you to take artistic liberty to make it unique, and it adds so much flourish!!

i designed my own gallifreyan phrase for a tattoo a few months ago, and the difference between my design using sherman's gallifreyan and the official bbc translator is not just glaringly obvious but a bit sad tbh
