a typical teenage girl™ named kagome falls down a well and friendzones a centipede demon, she’s confronted by suspicious villagers, one recognizes her as the reincarnation of her sister (kikyou) who’s been dead for fifty years. mistress centipede pulls a shiny jewel out of kagome’s abdomen and the wound miraculously heals at some point during the fight. she somehow finds her way to the tree that has the dog demon inuyasha pinned to it and he wakes up and kills the centipede. the rest of the series is kagome, inuyasha and their friends miroku and sango hunting down the tentacle monster/spider demon naraku who has managed to make verybody’s life a living hell in the past fifty years because kikyou took care of some shady ass bandit named onigumo made a pact with a bunch of demons which then made up naraku, so in his angst filled adventure to find his identity and purpose he tricked inuyasha and kikyou into fighting, gave miroku’s grandfather a sucky hole in his hand that passes down to each generation, killed sango and her little brother kohaku’s family, then brainwashed kohaku. most of the episodes consist of inuyasha and kagome arguing bc inuyasha still wants the Zombie Pussy, kagome getting into trouble and being saved by inuyasha and his magic swords all the while screaming each other’s names repeatedly. miroku’s sexual harassment. sango’s guilt and kohaku’s erased memory etc. naraku constantly creating new incarnations from his fucking body, including Kagura Who Wants To Be Free, and kanna with her soul absorbing mirror. sesshoumaru who’s too good for everybody, jaken worshipping him and of course his frosty shriveled up heart is thawed by a little girl named rin who was killed by wolves belonging to koga, a wolf demon who’s constantly trying to hook up with kagome but kagome is a (necrophiliac) dog person. kikyou is evil. Bad. Terrible. and jealous and possessive and overall abusive in the anime. absolutely awful, would not recommend interacting with her. she’ll attempt to drag you into hell at least once.
