Azula doing some pretty sweet firebending
- What about Aang? He still needs to learn waterbending. - Well, then he better get used to calling you Master Katara.
“Air, Water, Earth, Fire….Fan and sword!”
The legacy lives on forever.
Superhuman, by Ctreuse Lex.
Does anyone else remember that time Zuko went on a date with a girl because his uncle forced him too. And then she wanted to take him to her favorite spot. But then they got there and the lights weren’t lit to reflect in the water and she got pretty sad. So then even though he was supposed to be undercover and not using his bending, he told her to close her eyes and lit the lamps for her just so he could see her happy. God Dammit he was a good character
I always wondered what ever happened to that girl…
I LOVE YOU, that’s like… the most perfect request ever? You guys don’t understand, Drakken and Shego was my OTP and I still ship them so much
Varrick would be the type of person to be like “You wanna see my latest invention?!” and then be like “Zhu Li, do the thing!” and she’d just show up carrying their newborn.
Avatar – The Last Airbender: Toph [ISTP]
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Toph is very quick at reading people and figuring out what makes them tick (and giving them a fitting nick-name based on that). She makes decisions based on her internal logic and acts on it. She doesn’t take the chance to leave her over-protective parents and join Team Avatar at first, because it didn’t fit her self-image; even though she admits that Aang and his friends were “living the life” (The Blind Bandit). Afterwards she changes her mind, because her parents’ behavior made her realize that they won’t change and never accept her for what she is. When being in the group, the most important thing to her is her independence. It takes a while after she is ready to make compromises and do some team-work or let others help her. She prefers to be on her own and mostly takes part in group activities by adding sarcastic comments (and showing off her earth-bending skills → Se.). If it isn’t to fight, it’s fairly hard to raise Toph out of her calm attitude.
Extroverted Sensing (Se): Being born blind, Toph has her own way of orientating herself. She has a close connection to the earth, allowing her to “see” by the seismic sense her earth-bending lends her. This gives her a special gift for earth-bending, making her the greatest earth-bender of all time. Her greatest joy is a fight, in which she moves extremely quickly and skilfully. She loves action and taking risks, for example in gambling (The Runaway), fighting in an underground arena, or simply “breaking the rules” (The Earth King). When she doesn’t fight, she likes to take it easy and put up her feet. Toph doesn’t care much what others think of her, but she has her own charm and can use it to her advantage, if she wants to, being very good at playing an act and enjoying that (The Earth King, The Runaway). She’s a hard teacher with a “hands on”-approach, enjoying the chance to “torment the Avatar” (Bitter Work).
Introverted Intuition (Ni): Toph mostly lives in the moment, as she has no trouble at all to react fast and take things as they come. However, in dire situations she can come up with innovative long-term solutions. Her parents treated her as someone she wasn’t and isolated her, so she came up with an alias and started a career as a secret earth-bending champion. When she was captured and trapped in a metal cage, she kept trying to break out and eventually invented metal-bending, even though the accepted consensus at that time was that it’s impossible. Her seismic sense also gives her a spiritual rooting, and in her old age she retreats to The Swamp, where she can feel the connection of all living beings (Legend of Korra, The Calling). Her Ni also helps her to accurately read people and know them inside-out, without having to think much about it. She’s also the first to be open to accepting Zuko into the group, combining the logical necessity of Aang having a fire-bending teacher with her gut instinct (Ti-Ni) (The Western Air Temple).
Extroverted Feeling (Fe): Toph feels uncomfortable dealing with or expressing emotions, making her somewhat awkward in that area. She’s mostly rude and “tells it like it is”, not having much consideration for other people’s feelings, nor being sensitive herself. Additionally, it is inferred that she never received any sort of healthy, affectionate love from her parents, and that she pretty much grew up on her own. This might explain her somewhat exaggerated “allergy” to emotions.
It’s summer time! Hit the beach and get sand bending! Vine by @edskudder.
Look at those cute dorks!
OH SHIT
is this why the show was taken off nick?
So this is what air benders can do. Sucking the air out of people’s lungs. Just as cool as lightening bending if you ask me
No I don’t think you guys understand this is frightening
Airbenders are pretty much the most powerful benders. A firebender has to create fire. A waterbender is most powerful on the open seas as much as an earthbender is on land. But air is literally everywhere.
The Air Nomads weren’t dangerous because they chose not to be.
you’vE GONE TOO DEEP
Hey, HOLD UP.
While I agree that Airbenders do have a lot of power at their exposure, they aren’t the only ones.
Waterbenders can bend any type of fluid containing water, even blood inside the human body! That’s pretty fucking metal.
They can also take the water vapor out of the air, use their own sweat or even drain the water out of every living thing nearby.
Imagine that ^^ happening to a person..
Next we have fire, the element of destruction. Like Airbenders, they can use the air around them, and transfer it into energy. Firebenders can bend or generate anything fire/ heat related. That means lightning, flames, or extreme heat that has the potential to shape its environment (such as melt molten rock and metal.) Even fire breath!
Next we have Earth. Earthbenders can bend anything related or comprised of Earth, such as metal, rock, dirt, sand, etc. EVEN LAVA. Anything mineral related? You got it. Admittedly, minerals- although extremely easy to come by, are not as present as water or air. But there sure is enough to make use of, and we can’t say Earthbenders aren’t powerful!
This guy just stopped a volcano.
Not only are they powerful, but they are also graceful.
And I mean look at this! Avatar Kyoshi Earthbends a freaking continent in HALF!
In conclusion, fear all benders.
ok so i screenshotted this moment because i thought it was pretty cool
the first time we get to see all four elements working together for a common enemy, blah blah blah, but i started laughing because
sokka’s fucking boomerang. sokka threw a fucking boomerang at princess azula, renowned lightning bender and heir-apparent to the throne of the fire nation.
and sokka threw a boomerang at her.
I said it once and i say it again.
Azula considered Sokka to be the biggest threat in this group and countered him first. What this picture miss is Sokka sanding nearby. All members of this group unleash their attack at same time, but Azula reacts to boomerang first. If you watch this part in slow motion, you could see that Sokka’s boomerang was the first thing that would hit Azula and may even incapacitate her making her unable to continue to fight. So she had to counter in first. She deflected it with well placed shoot.
Then and only then, when there is no immediate threat, she starts to create her blue fire wall to counter other elements.
Lets think about this. How hard should you have to throw something to make it move faster that any elemental attack? Either all elemental attacks are slow or you are pretty strong. That said nonbenders with good aim and strong hands could easily overpower benders if they timed it right.(Aang got captured by Yuan archers who are all nonbenders.) Azula knew of this and acted according to it. She is talented bender and you may think that she should enlist other benders to help her track and capture Zuko, Iroh, and later avatar, but instead she uses her nonbender friend to help her.
Even if you have no bending you can still fight… and win.
Let’s not forget that on the Day of Black Sun, Sokka was the one in charge and Azula was no idiot Azula knew that.
When Aang, Sokka, and Toph all confronted Azula, she proceeded to make them chase her and waste their time. Azula is not only talented, she’s sly and smart as hell. WHO WAS THE ONE WHO SAW THROUGH THAT BS CHASE?
Sokka.
NOT ONLY THAT but after Sokka explains to the Gaang that Azula is just baiting them, Azula actually verbally attacks Sokka. Not through fighting, but through words, knowing not only that an intelligent person like him could only be brought down with emotions BUT that Sokka was the leader and if she could get him the stay, Aang and Toph would follow his lead.
Azula knew Sokka was their strength and took him down. WOULD SHE DO THAT IF HE WASNT A SIGNIFICANT THREAT TO HER!!??!
No. She wouldn’t waste her time and energy on someone she didn’t think was capable of actually getting in her way.
WHEN SHE GETS HER FIREBENDING BACK SHE HAS THE OPTION OF ATTACKING BADASS METAL BENDING TOPH AND THE FUCKING AVATAR WHO DOES SHE ATTACK?!?!
Azula never underestimated the power of non benders especially an intelligent one like Sokka. Sokka was a huge threat to fucking Azula on multiple occasions.
Remember that.
I discovered “Avatar the last Airbender” very late, and finally watched it for the first time 2 months ago.
What a Fucking. Great. Show. Michael Dante DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko : Thank you for existing.
So I animated Aang and Katara, dance-bending (inspired from the episode “The Headband”)
Because they make a great team together.
Too cute!
Incredible and adorable! Thanks so much for animating this!
