My 2019 Tony's thought dump...

*Not my favorite opening number, but still a delight.
*I know I'm beating a dead horse but I'm still a bit miffed about no nomination for Samantha Barks in Pretty Woman.
*AARON TVEIT. *screams into oblivion*
*So conflicted about Santino's win...love him...hate that show.
*Floored by Ali Stroker's performance/win and all that it means. (Not gonna lie, when I first saw her on Glee Project all those years ago I wasn't fond of her singing voice, but I've been impressed by everything she's done since then.)
*Made my heart happy to see Ephraim Sykes and all my former Newsies killing it and doing their thing.
*Rachel Chavkin's speech y'all...... *mic drop*
*I am seeing Hadestown the second it tours no questions asked.
*About dang time Stephanie J. Block got her Tony. (I will stan this girl until the end of time. Nothing but respect for m first Elphaba who literally transformed me back in the day).

Alright y’all, we’re a week out from the Tonys and I get it. You have your favorite. I have my favorite too! We all have our favorites and sometimes we’re gonna agree and sometimes we’re not and that is okay! You may not like the woman I like and that’s okay! We cool! Like the song goes…

But what’s not okay is posting negativity in someone’s tag to express your displeasure. On this coming Sunday, fans of one woman - and we don’t know who and they’re all extraordinary! What an amazing group of women! - are going to be very, very happy. Fans of the others won’t be as happy, and I understand disappointment like that, I do. Just, c’mon. Don’t be a dick, okay? Would it be possible to get through an awards season without the mean backlash and name-calling and ugliness of years prior? The five women nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Musical have been the epitome of grace, class, and kindness towards each other. Lets follow their example. So just remember, on June 8th… be mighty. Be kind.
