Mae: I’m leaving for the next couple days so i left a jar full of advice. For example, this one says “Jesse stop doing that” and it applies all the time
Jesse: I don’t want Ma to hear this.
Miles: What’d you blow up this time?
Jesse: The toaster, but she knows about that.
Mae: Jesse, is it true that you spent three days in the trunk of Miles’ car waiting to scare him?

Winnie: It was five.

In The Story of the Tucks, Miles is completely capable of explaining on his own and in a way that Winnie would understand because he probably spent a while trying to explain to his wife,or when he did and it went south, he spent all that time after trying to figure out how he would explain it in a way that might have kept her (his wife). But he defers to Mae a) because he is a mama’s boy and b) because maybe Winnie will be less put off if Mae (the mother figure) does it or c) he’s worried about screwing up again. Ultimately, it’s clear that Mae is to anxious about it and Jesse isn’t helping, so he takes over at the very end and in the absence of Angus.

The Tucks and Snapchat
So, like, they don’t die, so the Tucks eventually all getting like snapchats and stuff and Angus doesn’t really get it but his story is filled with pictures of lakes and fishes and sometimes Mae being beautiful
Mae loves it because she can see snippets of Jesse and Miles while they’re away and she almost is always using the cute filters and her story is filled with sewing or selfies with kids cuz she runs a small daycare from their home, her snapchat is just lots of cuteness
Miles doesn’t know how to not use a black and white filter, not that he doesn’t like other ones, he prefers the black and white one, his story is filled with trips to antique shops and old clocks, maybe pictures of when he’s home helping Mae with kids (he teaches them time)
Jesse is the master of Snapchat, he knows all the tricks and everything, he has every little achievement and he uses it constantly to talk to the rest of the Tucks. His story is filled with gorgeous views and monuments. Sunsets and sunrises and from far off places and occasionally the sneaky picture of Miles, but mostly great views and selfies with a toad.
