You and your words, obsessed with your legacy…
Perhaps they would get further with you by setting their words to music. THE SOUND OF MUSIC (1965) — dir. Robert Wise
I can’t believe they oblitered straight men like that
You know, I’ve read a lot of papes in my day, and I ain’t never noted no girl reporters writing hard news.

BURN
I love when brands throw shade and I love it even more that it’s Kylie Jenner
OKAY, BUT THEY SHADED HER LACK OF TALENT AND HER SHITTY, PROBLEMATIC FIT TEA PROMOTIONS ALL IN ONE TWEET. I’M GAGGING.
LMAO
Does Kylie not have a PR team? Did no one tell her that bragging about how she doesn’t need a job would get her dragged? She seriously stepped right into this one…
Shout out to Good&Co for not taking her shit. Hopefully this gets them some good press.
EDIT: Just so you guys know, Good&Co is actually a really great app/company. They helped me figure out my interests and get placed with a job that I actually like. They also help with online, work from home jobs. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s in between jobs or just wants some direction. Click here to check it out!
^^^I second this opinion, Good & Co is great!
I love the fact that Kylie’s drag is indirectly helping people in need. It warms my petty heart.

True Story
So I am absolutely unable to tell when people are flirting with me or if they like me probably because of my cripplingly low self-esteem hahaha
So when I was 17 I was at a basketball tournament and this dude and his squad called me over after I finished my game and this dude asked me for my number
and I was all ‘????’ and then I was like ‘oH he’s asking for my basketball number!’ keep in mind we usually have our jersey numbers on the front of our uniforms too but for some reason this one didn’t so I was like ‘oh I’ll turn around and show him’
I didn’t even realize how savage me turning my back on him, showing him my jersey number, and immediately walking away would be
His bros were laughing so hard at him
TBH I didn’t even know what I did until I walked back to my mom
who saw everything
LOLLLLL this has happened to me omg the embarrassment
i feel like this insult went under-appreciated
Something I just realized about Hamilton’s “Burn”
So it’s pretty obvious that the show is infused with Alexander’s name - he’s the title character, he spells his name out to the world, people hail him, curse him, talk about him constantly… but the big exception to this is “Burn.”
Here, Eliza outright refuses to acknowledge him.
That’s the whole show, acknowledging Alexander, but Eliza stands up and says absolutely not - not after this. The narrative is about her too (all the women) and though her choice is to “[erase] myself from the narrative,” she’s not just going to give that space to the man who betrayed her. Eliza keeps the lyrics firmly in the second person and though everyone (the audience) knows who she’s talking about, it’s significant that she refuses to speak his name.
Until the end. “It’s Quiet Uptown” has Alexander saying her name quite a bit - and the cast saying his - but Eliza is only just starting to forgive. Then in “Best of Wives and Best of Women” they’re back in bed together and the very first word she says is “Alexander.”
And of course, in “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story,” when Eliza puts herself back into the narrative, she not only acknowledges Alexander but also the prestige and pervasiveness he’s always craved: “In their eyes I see you, Alexander.” She acknowledges him everywhere.
In the span of a few songs Eliza comes full circle, using only Alexander’s name.
I hope that you burn.
Okay is it just me or do the first few measures of “Burn” from Hamilton sound eerily similar to the first few measures of “Stars” from Les Mis?
