ayo just wondering im kinda confused about your post because , while i agree with the sentiment in general, i don't understand why you wrote about atheists as if they were an oppressed group like?? kids who are atheists may get bullied but correlation =/= causation and atheism certainly isn't something people get bullied about like at all? unless you can convince me otherwise obviously but like yeah idk. thank youu
Not directly related to bullying, but Atheists are ranked as the highest or second highest (around same as Muslims) mistrusted group in America
Oh man, the stories in the tags range from upsetting to goddamn (pun unintended) heartbreaking and infuriating.
People tend to talk about atheists about being a part of the privileged group range, mostly because of the whole “dudebro atheist, logic be my shield” trope, but honestly in heavily religious communities it’s entirely the opposite. Like, you can get thrown out of your house for that in some parts of America, I’ve heard some pretty bad stories.
