Blood and Tines: Spring/Summer 2024
Mal knew fire. She'd worked it all her life. Breathing pieces of her soul into the glowing embers as she shaped her tools and worked her magic. It had been a friend. A reliable companion she knew more intimately than herself. The taste of it. The smell. The feeling of its heat in all its incarnations. And here it was in its feral beauty, unchained and wild, hunting for a fresh place to spread hungry roots.
Bracken is one of my favorite characters. He's such a chaos fae and wickedly lethal too. I know there are a few of you who remember this cantankerous old man, but I've got some surprises in store 😉

Yes, I just spent the greater part of two hours going between Celtic mythologies trying to get a lock on a correct line of myths for ONE DAMN PARAGRAPH OF BACKSTORY (puts face in hands and screams)
"There's still so much left to say," Alex eventually said, fidgeting with her hands. "I have so much I want to tell you and show you, but right now, I don’t think I have the right words. So…would it be all right if we shared a dance instead?"
I've never danced before, Lee admitted sheepishly, tugging at the edges of her suit jacket.
"I can show you," Alex offered with a hopeful smile. "If you’d like."
You know… I think I'd like that.
Unable to hide her relief, Alex extended her arm, which Lee took, the two sweeping into an open pocket on the dance floor.

There was too much to keep track of. Her hands wanted to wander and reciprocate, fingers curling, fabric splitting, skin reddening under the tips of her nails. Her mouth wanted to find the pulse at Alex's throat and hunker there, bruising skin with teeth and tongue, but her fangs were sharp. She was sharp and dangerous and different...
