HOPE THINGS WORK OUT, TWEET SOMETHING VAGUE IF THEY DON’T
life can come at you fast if you’re strong enough smart enough and willing to just fucking hurt people enough maybe it was march maybe i listened to the airborne toxic event maybe on the hood of the car that night maybe i even thought of your face sometimes i do think of your face and your beard and how it might feel and then I remember that it is not mine to feel another face belongs to me and i know that that’s not fair i thought it would kill me it didn't
“Hope Things Work Out, Tweet Something Vague If They Don’t” is previously published in Fuck Art, Let’s Dance Issue #014
“Five bright Tucson lights to help ease what sometimes seems like the darkest of days”
We’re stoked to see F.A.L.D. #013's Feature Poet Teré Fowler-Chapman on the cover of our Tucson Weekly !!
Teré is a vivid light in our desert community--working hard at Words on the Avenue to provide an empowering space for local poets to be vulnerable & share their work.
Dig into the Weekly’s “Creative Soul” by Adiba Nelson to get a slice of a vibe for our potent little desert community. Featured alongside Teré are local, lucid voices Deanna Din + Elizabeth Denneau + Jaca Zulu + Anton Russell.
“Tucson has the privilege of holding space for some of the most multifaceted creatives this side of the Mississippi. First up, Tere Fowler Chapman, poet and host of the monthly poetry gathering Words On The Avenue, and, the newly minted playwright, whose first play opened at Centennial Hall, and closed to a standing ovation.
Not only did Teré just give a most compelling TED Talks presentation on the power of poetics and showing up "as you are," but they literally have the capacity to make you question your life and claim your life in the same breath, with merely a pen and paper. They believe that poetry is a life-saving instrument, much like an airport defibrillator, the Heimlich, or a stranger giving you CPR.
When asked why poetry, Teré says 'I am not sure.’"
Much love <3 Cheers!

From Arkansas arrests to busking New Orleans to dirty street poet ciphers in the Bay, we had one hell of a weird year distributing 2015's Chapbook Contest winners. Shit, I danced around muggy NH parking lots dressed as an Oreo to get gas funds.
Yeah, we're looking forward to 2016's unraveling.

Traveling pop-up bookstore seeks examples of Passion
Books & Shovels, a nonprofit traveling pop-up bookstore, has begun accepting book / zines / [ anything that exhibits passion ] donations once again! GREETINGS, FRIENDS!
Jeremiah (runtraccoonrevolution) and I have been reading and rereading these last three weeks, discussing your manuscripts! It’s incredibly clear that our community really trusts what we’re doing at Nostrovia! Poetry, as so many of you submitted an incredible mix of work we’d never seen before!
By the first weekend, we quickly realized five finalists couldn’t properly acknowledge all your hard work–so we’ve gone and doubled the count! We’re so excited to share the following list of Nostrovia! Chapbook Finalists(!):
- Dalton Day – “To Breathe I’m Too Thin”
- Meg Eden – “I am Linwood Eden or Current Resident”

FRIENDS! Jeremiah Walton and I are thrilled to officially announce Nostrovia! Poetry‘s first ever chapbook contest! We know so many talented writers are looking for the proper place to send their work, and we want to help publish and promote you. With that in mind, we’re going to pick three winners for this contest(!), allowing us to publish a diverse set of styles and backgrounds. And since Nostrovia! Poetry is all about passionate living for our community, this opportunity is FREE.

ATTENTION ALL:
Walking Is Still Honest is up & running with new spine. The initial domains acquired to manage the website expired. I’m currently writing this in Tucson, Arizona, where Nostrovia! Poetry has been hosting shows, is preparing for the 2015 NYC Poetry Festival, and relaunching its love. There’s a lot of pancakes stacked here. Having gotten off the road recently, the financial…

The desert wants your blood
Tucson, Arizona, has been Nostrovia! Poetry’s and my base for the past month. We’ve gone from sleeping under a bridge, to a yurt, to a house, our small family slowly growing and cooperating to survive joyfully.
Tucson’s community is open arms. Tucson welcomed us with warm meals and kindness.
Bottlecap Press, Nostrovia!, and I organized the Mongolian Yurt Poetry Reading. ~80 people attended the…
What the hell is in this mysterious manila envelope? Why would anyone sell a manila envelope without telling you what’s inside? Right now, maybe you don’t even
What the hell is in this mysterious manila envelope? Why would anyone sell a manila envelope without telling you what’s inside? Right now, maybe you don’t even care, but late tonight, when you’re lying in bed, you’re going to think about this envelope. It will keep you awake for days on end. You will be driven mad just thinking “what the hell was in that mysterious manila envelope.” Thinking “I should have bought that mysterious manila envelope.” Thinking “It was only $14 and now I’ll never know what’s inside.” Save yourself the trouble. For your own sake. Find. Out. What. Is. In. The. Envelope. Ed.- The total value of the contents of the envelope is guaranteed to meet or exceed the sale price of $14. Should you order more than one envelope, records will be kept to ensure that the contents of each new envelope will never be the same as the last.
