Too bad I have to look after you, Sherry, otherwise I might ‘investigate’ a few of those ladies…
all I'm saying is, I've been slowly playing through all the frogwares sherlock holmes games and this theme is so powerful it turned my puppy into a hound
Please tell everyone on Tumblr about how horrified H&W aren't by the eldritch horrors
GLADLY. This user is playing through the Frogwares Holmes games and just completed The Awkakened (Remastered) from 2008.
This game is filled with the most unimaginable eldritch horrors indeed, and genuinely is filled with some scary gore, but the MOST terrifying part is H&W's utter lack of reaction to literally anything.
No screaming, the most minor image of disgust on their faces to the most supernatural event, before Holmes just turns around and says, “Let's go, Watson. There isn't more we can do here.” THEY RETURN TO BAKER STREET LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED.
And this happens several times?? They return from the most insane cult shrine in a swamp like they weren't perilously close to death?? These guys are chillmaxxing fr and I have to respect them for their well-kept stiff upper lips.
only a few people attended her memorial service even though she was highly respected and well known within cordonian society according to the article. wonder if that was a deliberate arrangement by mycroft? or if she just wasn't as popular and outgoing as the article describes her because her mental health prevented her from leaving the house as much?
I think Mycroft didn't even inform most people until she was in the ground. Or it was such short notice that most of them couldn't attend.
I do believe she was popular - Vogel remembers her and he too told Sherlock that she was popular (or something like that), so I doubt both the article and him lied.
Vogel lies yes but not about this.
So yeah, I think this was deliberately arranged like this by Mycroft so no one could ask questions and maybe make Sherlock's trauma resurface.
There was also the possibility of someone getting wind of the police investigation or asking questions about where tf her doctor is.
oh yeah, forgot about vogel’s remarks. i was thinking maybe mycroft used his connections to yasmin sertel and the chronicle to embellish the article and also to set it in stone that she died of tuberculosis to leave no room for speculation (the “so ravaged by consumption” part does come across a bit heavy-handed to me. i keep thinking had none of her acquaintances realized she wasn't coughing? or was she fake coughing?) but yeah, deliberate seems more like it. also makes sense that it was a time issue, especially since her body was taken for autopsy according to the police report. maybe it was a bit of both. it does seem like the service was a last-minute arrangement since they were leaving for london that same day, unless mycroft also planned for it to be like that..
My curse is not being able to refer to Sherlock without saying Sherry after playing SHCO
sherlock holmes chapter one experience
fuck. oh my god. in the “walking mom around the garden” sequence sherlock says “mycroft knew you would like it” about the pond in the garden. the pond sherlock was almost drownd in. implying either they had the pond put in. for violet. by mycroft. or that when they were looking at properties mycroft suggested stonewood manor because of the pond. for violet.
it makes me sad to think about how when sherlock was a kid he used to play around water and the open sea a lot and that his safe haven was an old shipwreck right by the sea and he used to go there and imagine himself a pirate sailing the seven seas and it made him feel happy and safe, and how all that changed after the Incident and now he can't even go near water without nearly fainting and became a land creature and reached his final cat form: a hydrophobe who hates getting himself and his precious suit wet. even when he goes back to that old shipwreck as an adult to remember the good old times the game is constantly alerting you to stay clear of the water-that safe haven is basically a danger zone now. then TA comes along and now the sea is an absolutely horrific and dreadful place. sometimes it's a part of growing up that as we get older our mindsets about certain things shift and the things we used to love doing as daring kids start to become daunting or inconvenient with age or we simply grow out of them. but sherlock didn't get the chance to grow out of this adventurous streak. he was robbed of it-of something as pure as playing around open water and building ships and playing pirates because of his trauma, and that breaks my heart.
theres no joke here its just a comp of watson quotes in chapter 8 because i like him
realizing that violet’s room is almost adjacent to sherlock's (there's like this weird empty space between them probably a lavatory but the two rooms are still pretty close) which means that as a child he'd have heard her scream in agony as she was being mentally and physically tortured by richter.. and that her screams are the first thing he remembers when he sees the tub…
im not okay
Hello I'm back with my wacky ass meme
someone better make them sit down and have a proper talk and sort shit out or i will start breaking things
sherlock taking out his frustration with mycroft on mycroft's agents is the funniest thing but i just realized the level of savagery here and im speechless. he basically told the guy he's so shit at his job that by the time he achieves some level of competence victoria's reign will have ended and her son edward vii will be king (which historically is 22 years from 1880) sherry please what did the man do to deserve this he was just trying to do his job dhsbhasg
cleaned up the patterns on some of sherlocks outfits feel free 2 use for fanart or backgrounds or sth
