"Are you fielding your calls now?" She demanded to know as soon as she answered his call.
"Hello, Braylie. I'm fine, how are you doing?" Lucca asked, sarcastically. A smile stretching across his face.
He could hear her sigh and take a deep breath before she spoke. "I'm fine. How come you didn't answer when I called you the first three times?"
"Because I thought my cell phone could use a swim."
"Huh?"
"Nothing. I didn't hear it. What's up?"
He could almost hear her roll her eyes at him. "Have you talked to Nova yet. You know? About what you asked me..."
"No, I haven't." He pulled a couple dead leaves off of the Tomato plant in front of him, sighing out loud. "I planned on doing it this weekend."
M.A.6.
She'd just made it through the gate when Freeman was pulling half into the driveway, a look of concern on his face that melted away upon seeing her.
She rolled her eyes at him, which only made his grin wider. God, she loved his smile. She walked to the back window and propped her arms against the window frame to hold herself up. Her legs still felt a little wobbly and she didn't need to fall over and freak the girls out. Then she knew she wouldn't be able to convince them to go to school. She took a steadying breath and smiled.
She opened her mouth to begin her goodbyes, but Sophia cut her off. "Why is your face all red, Mommy?"
"What?" She asked, pushing her hands to her face. She could tell by the heat the was immentating from her cheeks that she was flushed from her and Freeman's lovemaking. She pressed her lips together.

“Are you kidding me..”
“You’re.. Oh my goodness, Braylie. Are you really pregnant?” Faye whispered.
Braylie nodded. “All seven pregnancy tests said positive, so I went to see my lady doctor and she confirmed those tests were correct.” She pushed the hair from her face. “I think I’m ok, you should be sitting down.”
“I’m pregnant.”
She sat staring at nothing, her face taking on a blank look and Braylie was pretty sure she was holding her breath. When she finally spoke, Braylie sighed.
“Am I married?”
Braylie walked back outside carrying a tray, of hot ginger tea and two generous slices of spice cake with cream cheese frosting. Their favorite. She sat the tray down, gently grabbing one of the mug’s, placing it in front of Faye long with her slice of cake. Then did the same for hers, pushing the serving tray away from them. “Beautiful day. Very Spring-y, don’t you think?”
“Mm.”
“What’s up?”
