Senator Bob Casey’s race is now at a margin of 0.53%.

An automatic recount in PA is triggered with a margin of 0.5%. That’s a difference of 0.03% or a little over 2,000 votes. We need to make sure every ballot is counted here, and there’s thousands of uncounted ballots right now due to voter error.

-2/3 of the House of Representatives (290)

-3/4 of the states (38)

In 2026, 33 senate seats will be up for grabs, and we’ll be able to vote for people who are against Trump and his ideals.

TLDR; yes, signature matching is an antiquated way to verify ballots but it is still being used. Reportedly thousands of ballots here need to be cured. Answer the phone!

Nearly 14,000 Nevada voters must verify their identity with election officials to cure the signature on their mail-in ballots or their votes won’t count in what was expected to be a close presidential race, according to the secretary of state.

I would say vote if you can tomorrow and then no matter who wins, get involved in your local community.

No matter who wins, we will need community organizing to survive. We need to fight for more affordable and walkable neighborhoods. You should attend neighborhood meetings if you are able. If nothing else just talk to your neighbors and get to know them. Community is key to us getting through it all alive.

Voting is important but you have so much more power and capability to create change beyond the ballot box. Whether it's fighting for bike lanes and transit, supporting affordable housing, joining a canvassing group, attending community gatherings and input meetings, answering surveys put out by local government, protesting injustices in your community, volunteering to help homeless people or any number of other things. You have to be involved in community because that is what gets us through things and you have to pay attention to local government because that is where real change is possible to achieve

There's been a lot of talk about how your vote is private, especially aimed at people who might want to vote for Harris but feel pressure from Trump-supporting partners, friends, family, etc. So there's probably going to be more of those people trying to pressure you if they can to send them a ballot selfie, "proving" that you voted a particular kind of way.

So here's a reminder that if someone in your life "requires" a ballot selfie, you can still vote how you want. It's possible to "waste" a ballot and request another one to fill out, so long as you do not submit it. It's possible to correct your selections on a voting machine, so long as you do not hit the "submit" or "vote" button.

Other stuff to try to influence your vote - like someone peeking into your ballot box or at your machine - tell a poll worker. Trying to influence another person's vote is illegal voter intimidation, and poll workers are designed to protect you against that. It doesn't matter who is trying to do that.

No, you should do what the poll workers recommend with your wasted ballot rather than impulsively throwing it away. For starters, you'll probably need to show it to them in order to get a new ballot. They'll get rid of the wasted one properly once you do that.

PLEASE DO NOT THROW IT OUT. At least at my polling location, we need to count the number of spoiled ballots (and cast and ballots left blank at the booths) to make sure we aren’t missing ballots at the end of the night (we compare to the number of ballots we are given and hand out)!

For some of us, this is the third time we’ve had to be part of the firewall to stop Trump (and the efforts failed the first time). It is impossible to describe what this election feels like. Please vote.

i saw someone the other day responding to a trolley problem election analogy by saying they didn't want to vote because they didn't want to fuel the trolley. but voting doesn't fuel the trolley! taxes do. why is it that i never see these people organizing tax boycotts? why is it only vote abstention campaigns?

Thing to keep in mind:

1) someone is gonna be in the White House next year, and it is going to be someone who supports us imperial interests abroad

2) both the main party candidates suck in their own ways

3) for everything you (reasonably) criticize Harris for, trump is demonstrably worse (very much including Palestine)

4) we are still feeling the continued impacts of trump’s presidency, in terms of everything from the makeup of the Supreme Court ending safe abortion access and the lessening of safety regulations causing mass food outbreaks

5) a second trump presidency would be worse, for literally every possible issue you could think of

6) there is no scenario in which we could exchange our domestic issues for an end to genocide. We can’t trade reproductive justice for Palestinian statehood

7) the Biden-Harris admin had accomplished a lot of good things

8) good things the Biden administration has done do not excuse his continued funding of Israel committing genocide

9) Choosing not to vote or voting third party will not change any of the above facts. There is nothing to be gained by abstaining from voting, or by voting for a third party that has no chance of winning.

10) yes, this is supremely unfair. But there is no option b right now. This is the choice we have, and if the choice isn’t obvious to you I’m not sure what to say

11) voting doesn’t mean you’re supporting this person, you like them, agree with them, or that you cannot protest against them, criticize them, or try to hold their feet to the fire

12) voting will not fix everything. but not voting will not fix anything. Voting is a tool, it’s not the only tool, but it’s foolish to refuse to use it on principle

13) if voting makes you complicit, so does paying taxes or using public services like roads or schools. I am complicit by virtue of living in this country and being a citizen. Refusing to vote will not demonstrate my disagreement with this country, only my complacency in how it is run

A huge number of people are already getting fucked over when it comes to being allowed to cast a vote in the upcoming elections. Let’s try to minimize what that number COULD be as much as possible. It might also be useful to have the number for the ACLU written down (or already in your phone) so you can CALL THEM while still at the polling place and get whatever information is needed in order to see about having the ACLU sue them. Write down names. Get witnesses. Take photos. MAKE IT VERY CLEAR TO THE POLLSTERS THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE. (Unless you have reason to believe they’re going to be assholes and try to have you arrested for doing so, in which case, be as subtle as possible.)

So, a comparatively high amount of states are voting on the fate of ranked choice voting this year. Missouri is voting on whether or not to kill it, Alaska is voting on whether or not to keep it, and most importantly, Nevada, Oregon and Idaho are voting on whether or not to adopt ranked choice voting, with maybe Colorado to follow.

And if you live in these states, even if you don't want to vote at the top of the ticket, I urge you to get out there and vote in favor of ranked choice voting on all of them.

Like, the two-party monopoly is a big part of the reason why politics in this country is so shit, and a big part of that is our "first past the post" system making it basically mathematically impossible for candidates outside of them to win anything beyond a local or state level.

So, if you want to try and break the cycle of voting for the lesser evil, of bipartisan cruelty towards the Global South and the country's own citizens alike, we need to change this and we need to vote on it where we can.
