(starts raising his hand before everyone else, just less confident about it than his classmates)

(remembers nearly all of the gibberish password that was told to him in a rush, only forgets the last two characters)

(replicates moves that he's only seen once (yes he also replicated RIPeter's move but I'm not screenshotting that bc it's long and complicated))

(figures out how to immobilize a guy that could escape any enclosure/trap)

(notices something is up/off with Gwen immediately, politely follows her lead and doesn't dig into it)

(continuation of above: realizes she's hiding something about her mission from him, decides to spy on her to figure out what)

(has information the Spider Society doesn't; figures out what the Spot is doing before any of them do)

(action plan made in 0.2 seconds)

(keeps up with what Miguel (a scientist from the future who has at least a year and a half of hands-on experience with the multiverse) is talking about)

(mentally calculates the timing of a giant spinning machine so that he can pass through safely and none of the Spiders can follow him)

(lmaooo you cannot do the same move twice on him, he learns too fast)

(this one speaks for itself. he really did have a plan)

(remembers how to use the Go Home Machine after seeing it be used once)

(immediately figures out why he's in the wrong dimension)

in conclusion, please never say/imply that:

  1. Miles is not on the same academic level as other Spider-nerds
  2. Miles is less capable in fighting/combat than other Spider-people
  3. Miles is not as good at strategy than other Spider-people
  4. Miles is too naive/childish/optimistic to have practical intelligence or pick up on when something bad is going on under the surface
  5. Miles's smaller amount of experience means he is generally less competent/capable than other Spider-people

EVER again ok thank you!!!!

Imagine being consistently bullied by your middle manager for a full odd decade since the moment of your employement because your workplace abilities (Making Calls and Dewey Decimal) are too esoteric for her cat meme poisoned brain but one day you both get stranded in the middle of nowhere along with the office’s most important files and you become unlikely friends. Also she sees a man die. And then when you get back (by crashing in through the twentieth story window) the office computers are utterly fried and only you know how to fix them so you do and for your bravery and big big heart your middle manager becomes a better boss and also you get asked to join the office polycule. That’s what happened to Sadness Insideout.

Ratatouille would have been a better and potentially much more interesting story if Remy had partnered with Collette instead of Linguini. Two underdogs with talent and passion forced to maintain a dangerous ruse. Fiercely independent Collette giving up temporary control of her body to a creature who, despite the insanity of a rat wanting to cook professionally, she can relate to on a personal level and who she does want to teach. The inner conflict of wondering if Remy’s growing talents are eclipsing her own, if the praise their food is earning belongs more to him than to her. Her guilt over feeling resentment and jealousy towards this little guy who wouldn’t have a hope of realizing his talents if not for her trust and protection. Both of them unraveling the mystery of that sweet but bumbling kitchen boy with the obvious crush on Collette being Gusteau’s secret son, and working together to thwart the new evil owner’s plans to stop Linguini from claiming his birthright. The message of the movie not being this weird, almost smug “some people are born with talent, some people aren’t, and that’s how being a ~great artist~ works”, but something more like, “if you have a dream, you deserve to pursue it, and be supported and encouraged in your pursuit of it, even if other people tell you that, because of some intrinsic aspect of yourself or the circumstances you were born in (like being a human woman in the restaurant industry, or being a literal rat), you have no place pursuing this dream. Also, raw talent can only get you so far, and skill and passion existing in the right balance is key.” I’ve been thinking about this for seventeen years. I’m breaking my silence

Wait I’m not done. Maybe at the beginning of the film, Collette is feeling burnt out and discouraged, and has almost reached the limits of her inner fire keeping her in this career despite industry sexism, and Remy, a complete industry rookie who just loves to cook, helps her rekindle her spirit by reminding her of herself when she was younger, and why she wanted to pursue the art of cooking at a high level in the first place. And, in turn, she patiently teaches Remy the skills he will need to cook at the level he dreams of. And when they’re practicing and she looks down at her hands and sees them moving with, what seems to her, painful slowness or imprecision, it takes her right back to when she was first learning how to move her hands in these ways, and Remy’s joy and determination about learning is an echo of her own, from a time when she was less jaded about her art. Remy as her student puts Collette back in touch with an inner younger self who has big dreams and loves to cook, and lets her shake the cynicism her career has ground into her— which is paralleled by the cynical Ego’s journey, and how Remy’s cooking puts him back in touch with his inner child, too. Remy the innocent, rekindling joy in two jaded professionals and helping them remember what they’re doing all of this for.

it turns out I can’t stop thinking about this. The only downside is that to do anything further with this idea, I’ll have to rewatch Ratatouille, a movie that I did not altogether enjoy, hence why I wrote these posts in the first place. Ah! I’ve caught myself in a snare of my own making.

«but she will be mine, or she will burn!»

i downloaded a million procreate brushes and decided to try oil painting. i had a bunch of work to finish, but i just couldn't fucking resist. "the hunchback of notre dame" cracked me up again when i wasn't expecting it. you have no idea how much i love this cartoon, so i decided to dedicate this art to one of the most beautiful songs in this movie.

and now i'm off to finish the rest of wips…

Smth I’ve thought about ever since I first saw wreck it ralph is that in universe king candy is basically an irl creepypasta. Like he’s a racer that only exists in this one specific sugar rush cabinet, every other version off the game has princess vanellope. Literally no one knows he exists except for ppl who went to this one small arcade in the United States. And if the code for sugar rush has been dumped there is no trace of king candy bc he only exists in this one cabinet. I bet there’s ppl who traveled cross country just to see if king candy actually exists.

And then after the movie king candy disappears from the roster forever and is replaced by vanellope but she’s different than every other vanellope, different outfit different personality different kart different voice lines etc

It’s literally that one arcade cabinet creepypasta discussions and YouTube videos about it in universe must be crazy.

I bet the internet found out about him bc someone went on the sugar rush subreddit and said “loved sugar rush when I was a kid, king candy was always my favorite racer!” and everyone in the comments was like “WHO??????”
