Just taking a moment to appreciate my partner Adam, for all he does and puts up with due to me and Barley. We're the two ends of the chaos spectrum and he somehow has to keep sane in the middle. But at least we keep things interesting for him!

I kid you not! The worst condition the vets had ever seen a dog in. The amount of times we had to prepare for the fact he only had hours to live because they couldn't figure out the cause and it couldn't possibly just be his ear pain. After one day on a very low dose of antibiotics to treat his minor ear infection and you'd think Barley had never had anything wrong with him.

Obviously this is the best case scenario, and I am so happy that Barley is going to be okay. However could he maybe tone down the drama just a little bit perhaps.

It’s National Puppy Day today, so here is my boy Barley the day I brought him home at 7 weeks old. He still very much thinks he’s still this size.

It’s International Women’s Day, and I like to think being a woman isn’t always about being a strong independent attractive matriarchal figure, you can also feel female in the really dumb moments too.

I was thinking of maybe doing some process videos and tutorial, but then I also don't think I'm in any position to give advise, so they'll probably be more what not to do videos.

This month my little nightmare became 8 years old. So here is a look back at when he was around 8 weeks old, we don’t actually know his actual birthday, so in true Barley fashion, he gets the entire month of October to celebrate!

After finding out Blackpool actually has a really nice beach, we took beach loving Barley for a day out. But we never checked the tide times, so there was no beach, only one very disappointed dog.

So in October I got the news that my dog Barley had weeks if not days to live, but today after an emotional few months my boy got the all clear!! And to celebrate this little miracle we took him to his favourite place, the beach!

I may have collected the wrong dog from the groomers.

My dog Barley has been having a hard couple of days in and out of the vets, but he's definitely using the situation to his advantage to get extra treats, toys and cuddles.

I don't remember a time before the cone. There has only ever been the cone. I doubt I will ever be without it, forever imprisoned within the cone. For the cone is me and I am cone.

(Barley has taken to cone life as dramatically as I expected him to.)

My new year’s resolution is to finish my family portrait. After two years of taking my sweet ass time, 2021 is the year I complete it and hang it up, for sure!
