I didn’t even notice the url I was just like damn they’re right.

Especially Palestinian olive oil!

It is not only ethically better, it’s just all-around better.

Buy from:

Or just look for a local Palestinian-owned or Middle-Eastern-owned market! Al’Ard is a good brand.

How are disabled and interracial illegal???

Interracial marriage was outlawed for the longest time, and disabled people lose government benefits when they get married so they cannot have reassurance that they will continue to LIVE if they get married.

Story time: my mom is white, dad is black. They’ve been together twenty four years, married for twenty three. When my parents were dating they did it on the low TO KEEP MY DAD SAFE.

My mom’s parents said “We don’t care who you love.” At that point she’d only ever brought home white guys. She brought my dad home-her mother called her a nigger lover and damned the relationship as much as possible. Her father grew around his prejudices after I was born but never apologized, just wasn’t a blatant fuck.

The day she introduced my father to her family was the last time she spoke to her mother for over twenty years. When I was getting sick and she called and asked her mother and grandmother if anyone in the family had anything strange happen similar what I was going through they told her “it’s because you married a black man. You made your bed, you lie in it.”

Cops pulled them over all the time and asked my mom IF SHE WAS OKAY AND IF SHE NEEDED HELP BECAUSE MY FATHER-A BLACK MAN-WAS DRIVING A 100 POUND WHITE WOMAN AROUND. HE WAS HARRASSED AND THREATED WITH ARREST.

My father ended up getting into a fight in self defence because some entitled hick decided he didn’t like seeing a black man and white woman in the bar together. Thankfully other patrons helped my father but he still couldn’t go to the er for his injuries. My mom patched him up and they were terrified the cops would take him away.

THEIR BEST FRIEND GOT LICENSED TO MARRY THEM SO THEY COULD ACTUALLY TIE THE KNOT BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WOULD AND CITED JIM CROW ERA LAW AS TO WHY.

When shopping with just me my father wouldn’t hold my hand if there was a group around. Why? I’m far lighter than him and people had stopped and asked him “whose child is that?” Or “little girl where’s your parents?” and were stunned when I grinned and pointed at my dad and proudly proclaimed “my daddy’s right here.” You know where else mixed kids couldn’t hold their parents hands? Apartheid South Africa. We live in fucking FLORIDA.

So yeah. Some history for you.

When it comes to functional illiteracy one thing is I clearly remember is being unable to read when everyone else could. I went to decent schools and had access to my own textbooks even if my education was disrupted by my parents moving cities but I seemed to have maladaptively simply learned to vaguely associate pages of my textbooks with words instead of actually reading them. I was a child and thought phonetically joining every word was laborious and stupid. I remember realising with terror at a new school at age 7 or so when they made you write your own sentences that I couldn't get away with it. When my mother realised this, around the same time as I did basically my parents had a massive intervention, we signed up for the local library membership (libraries in India outside schools are often paid) and my mother took me to the library to read a different book everyday for months (don't remember this, but I seem to remember way more children's books than we own), bought many many readers for children and my father also managed to get a real honest to god usamerican educational game CD in India in like 2004 (def had to be imported.) That's what it took to create my literacy. To characterise illiteracy as a personal failure is monstrous.

I am trapped in a nightmare that I can't seem to wake up from. I remember the days when life was beautiful, stable, and full of warmth. My children lived in comfort; they knew peace, security, and a sense of belonging. Now, everything has changed. Our days are filled with fear, and I can barely provide for their basic needs. I look at their faces, and it breaks my heart to see them struggle in a world so far from the life we once had. How can I accept this harsh reality when the memories of our peaceful life are still so vivid? The contrast is unbearable, and I feel lost, torn between what was and what is.

I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, who is enduring unimaginable hardship. Her life was once stable and filled with joy, but now she struggles daily to provide her children with even the basics. Your support can make a tremendous difference in helping her adapt to this harsh new reality and give her children a glimmer of the stability they once knew. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help her face these challenges with renewed strength and hope. Please consider donating to help her and her family hold on to hope and resilience.

Abed – @abdelraouf – is isolated and trapped in northern Ghazzah.

Having been separated from his family, Abed's intense hardship is being compounded by his loneliness. Abed's wife and two young sons managed to evacuate to the south – however, they are now struggling to collect basic supplies to survive. Abed's family is suffering and they need urgent help.

  • Abed has written about his situation here
  • Reblogged by @/gaza-evacuation-funds here.

Abed's GFM is currently at €175. We are aiming to support him with reaching the short-term goal of €3,000 as soon as possible.

Please share and support this campaign. Every donation, no matter the amount, can make an immense difference.

Thank you for sharing the campaign, Abdul is my cousin, his campaign got 185 for 3000 as a simple and short-term goal. If each person donated $10, it will not affect his life, but it will affect the life of Abdul's wife and her children, donate any amount even if $5 will be more than useful.🫂‼️💔

His campaign gets only 305€ 💔

i know everyone (correctly) talks about how sam reid was possessed by the ghost of lestat and perfectly encapsulates him in the show but i honest to god firmly believe that that show would not have been what it was (nor received the reception it did) without jacob anderson. he breathed such life into a character that probably wouldn't have been all that tolerable for multiple episodes let alone seasons.

This is your reminder that without eSims, many people in Gaza cannot reach the rest of the world. To their loved ones overseas to the people who have donated to their fundraisers hoping to keep them alive. The Israeli government has issued repeated communications blackouts, trying to cut us off from Gaza. Even when there are not "official" blackouts, telecommunications are dangerous; Palestinians like Medo have died in makeshift tent cafes trying to access the internet and reach us. In Gaza, infrastructure has been severely damaged, despite the brave and hard work of people in Paltel on the ground. Do not think that because you read a headline about a communications blackout ending, eSims are not needed; Israel has already laid groundwork to cut Gazans off from the world - eSims work independent from the Israeli government and can provide data and phone service, an essential lifeline.

If the process of donating an eSim yourself seems daunting, you can contribute to the Crips for eSims fund directly here:
