March study dump, didn't have a lot of time for drawing but whenever I did, I tried to at least get 3 10 min film studies done for warmup.
Moved away from preliminary sketches into straight color blocking about halfway through these which was a big step! Also slowly noticing improvement in my process wrt blocking out the entire composition before focusing on details. Next I'm trying to get myself to prioritize the focal point earlier into painting so ideally my process would come out as rough composition -> focal point -> everything else as opposed to always working background to foreground as I tend to do now.

also got inspired by watching Ben Eblen videos on youtube to play around with some more interesting color variation. very much a trusting the process exercise!

for the last two batches i tried my hand at 10 minute film studies to force myself to stop focusing on details too early into painting, a habit that is very hard to shake... noticing some minor improvement at least!
