i meant to drop it but btw if you are genuinely upset by someone saying your comfort character could be transfem, or argues that them being transfem makes more sense than transmasc, then you need to examine 2 things:
1. Do you have an unhealthy attachment between your identity and this character? Does it feel like someone having alternate readings is hurting you?
2. Do you - consciously, or unconsciously - think this character being transfem is a bad thing? Think about if you would have this same reaction if someone was bluntly asserting they were nonbinary, or transmasc? Would reading “obviously he’s transmasc and anyone who thinks otherwise is stupid” bother you less than “obviously she’s transfem and anyone who thinks otherwise is stupid”? Why is that happening? Why is a higher standard for politeness present in that case?
I dont have any clear cut solutions for you if so, but it is important to challenge behaviors like these even in low stakes situations.

One should always have at least 2 craft projects going. That way, when one of them is messed up and misbehaving, you can switch to another, and let the first one sit there and think about what it's done.
Sometimes (oftentimes), when a creative project is "misbehaving," it's because it is tired, and overstimulated, and just needs a time out to rest -- like toddlers often need.
And sometimes, you should give your creative projects time to talk to each other, as well as to you.
